I guess the unwashed hippies don't like you eating one of their favorite pets.

Trust me, I would never east a hippie's guinea pig because we never know what they had it for in the first place

I haven't personally eaten it, but it is a common meat source in south america.

The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

I would imagine guinea pigs would have a bit more fat on them than rabbits, giving them more flavor and juice.  Know of any restaurants in Hawaii that serve them up? Or do we have to go raiding the local pet stores?

Guinea pig is to rabbit what cornish game hen is to chicken?
If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready.

As a chef, I would like to try it one day, also remember that our g.p and rabbit's are breed to much for the pet trade, so they wouldn't be like the ones in south America, which I think would be better tasting,  do to the wild diets they would be eating, here ur as luck if they can run around and eat more then grass pellets and a few carrots, the old  school way of doing rabbit was to feed them herbs for a few weeks and stew them in red wine, the liver is too strong for me, so I will pass on that part, but I do love hearts grilled

GP is a bit more stringey than rabbit.   More like eating Rat.  When I was a young kid living in Singapore I ate all kinds of alternative meats.

Also they feed them fresh veggies not pellets.  If you feed them pellets they have a aftertaste like pellets......
