General Discussion / Re: attn: Rhoads another knife attack
« on: March 28, 2024, 06:28:01 AM »
they sure went after knives big-time in the UK.  setting the example.

i'm pretty sure my history isn't entirely accurate, but it seems the holy crusades to push the moors and the saracens out of europe (and the holy lands), the christian crusaders have lost that war (500 years later).  Even as far north as Scotland, you have kebab shops and halal stores, burkas/hijabs out in public.

I think it is Ireland, where it was recently decreed that "I love Ireland" is now hate-speech, or something like that, as a result of some algerian immigrant heinous crime.  Govt quickly came to the defense of the invader.

they are lost.

Minnesota has hoisted the Somali flag, and Dearborn Michigan is now palestinian.

this one's an hour-and-a-half long.  I watched it at 1.25 speed.  reflects some soul searching, her view of govt over-reach, political corruption, the deep swamp, etc.

4
got it.  She shoulda stayed as a bar tender.

5
leave her alone
just curious, are you referring to my comment?

leave which one alone?  AOC or Ketanji Jackson?

or was that  /sarcasm?
6
AOC is a prime example of what is happening in politics today.  Money talks.  Money is what will get stupid people like her elected.

And her stupid rhetoric will garner the loyalty of the tons of stupid young people out there that don't bother to get educated on the issues but would rather play with their f*ckn tic tok crap on their iphones.

Money drives who goes to congress.  The smart, educated, and innovative candidates that actually would make a difference will be left on the wayside.

"Rico is a category and not a crime" shows AOC is a f*ckn retard.

Prepare for more of her kind in the years to come.  Money from high places are placing these kinds of people to shape the world THEY want to live in.

Not you.
Ketanji Jackson is another one.
can't be bothered with facts or details,  "800 rounds per second", "whatever...", "1st amendment hamstrings the govt".
appointed to SCOTUS for life.

General Discussion / Re: Best online firearms vendors, new and used?
« on: March 20, 2024, 04:38:57 PM »
for used, out-of-production, discontinued stuff, I think GB is your best bet.  But you have to vet the seller:  other items for sale, read the feedbacks, fine print, rating.

for new, currently produced:  your favorite LGS, or your preferred on-line vendor, e.g. Buds, Brownells, PSA, etc, etc, through your friendly FFL.

my fav FFL charges basically $25 - $30 per transaction, but I noticed that when I'm buying a lot of stuff, like a half-dozen-or-more stripped lowers, after about $150 - $200, it becomes a flat rate for the lot.  Yes, S&H and FFL fee is a factor.

if SB3196 passes, I suspect most of those mainland vendors will no longer do any business with Hawaii, parts or FFL items.  Gonna be like the barren wastelands of the Sahara or NY or Massachusetts or Connecticut for us out here on this desert island.  Zip.  Nada.  Zilch.  Nichivo (ничего).

Political Discussion / Re: SCOTUS rules on TX boarder

7 of 9?

them's some Dagmars.

on topic, my head spins when i try to figure out have an appeals court overrules SCOTUS.  so confusing: stays, injunctions, back and forth.

i would not be shocked if Karl Rhoads is doing all kinds of back-room, dark-money, George Soros sweetheart stacks of cash ("rubber bands") to steam-roller this through.  untold promises of un-traceable campaign funds for re-election campaigns.  Fani Willis kind of cash.

General Discussion / Re: a carjacking

Outstanding warrants........

Another one of many pukes out there that probably belong in jail.

Catch and release system.  Aloha style.

At the expense of all of us.
our lawmakers just don't get it.  same with the people that repeatedly vote them into office, over and over.  certainly deserving of the label of libtards.

Political Discussion / Re: Hawaii votes forTrump
« on: March 14, 2024, 07:02:07 PM »
would be eye-popping, no, mind-blowing, if this manifested itself in the General Election.  I'm sure the Dem machine would refuse to certify, of course.  No questions asked allowed.

sigh, we can only dream.

getting back on track...

sound familiar?

"Gun Owners of America (GOA) and its sister organization, the Gun Owners Foundation, on Monday filed a petition for certiorari with the Supreme Court in their challenge to the Protect Illinois Communities Act (PICA). The groups, representing Illinois gun owners, argue the law imposes an unconstitutional, sweeping ban on hundreds of commonly owned and lawfully used rifles and ammunition magazines."

campaigning outside of Komrade Karls district isn't productive.  Votes have to be cultivated, harvested, in his district.  so if that's Chinatown, perhaps a tough-on-crime, shut down the catch-&-release, tough love on drugs, go after the criminals, not harass the law-abiding, improve city sanitation (clean up the rubbish), more police walking patrols in that district.  Are homeless a problem, then get them off the sidewalks and into the shelters.  tough love.  Maybe that's the platform.

wasn't he all for California-style bail reform a year-or-two ago?  which thank-God failed.

but gotta be focused in his district.

For SB3196 that's crossed over to the house. No hearing date yet, but HIFICO had a meeting with the head chair Tarnas, but he needed to reschedule.  HIFICO will inform him of Comrade Karls statment of the intent to just ban 50's and not accessories.
despite his admission that banning 50's have nothing to do with crime.

as a firearms enthusiast, I always dreamed that if I won the lottery, i'd buy a Barrett 50, just for shits n giggles.  and a Lamborqhini.  and lots of hookers n blow.   well, maybe not the blow, I mean, I'm not Hunter.  Komrade Karl just kills my dreams, hopes, and aspirations.  such a buzz-kill, what a Debbie-downer.

and you wonder why kids nowadays lack motivation.  or move to the mainland.

There are two "anti-gun" bills proceeding through the Hawaii legislature RIGHT NOW!

YOU need to call and write your Hawaii State Representative NOW!
(they already passed the Hawaii Senate)

Tell the aide,
because the Rep won't talk to you
(unless you make an appointment to talk on the phone, or visit them in person, and  BOTH are GREAT things to do!)
you are OPPOSED  to SB3196 and SB2845

https://www.nraila.org/articles/20240306/hawaii-anti-gun-bills-passed-in-the-senate-and-referred-to-house-committees

If you don't,
your opinion  DOES. NOT. COUNT !

I am trying to help.

What are you doing?

Thank you,
Paul

YOUR District Rep (you have to look that up)

 https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/legislature/legislators.aspx?chamber=H

and the Majority Leader: Nadine K. Nakamura

and the Majority Whip: Chris Toshiro Todd

are the MOST IMPORTANT!

Thank you to 6716J:

These are the people you need to talk to NOW!

Hello Fellow Firearms Enthusiast!

Welcome to the party!
16
there was a credible opponent last cycle, and he lost bigly...
i stand corrected.  good to know.  I guess we gotta crank up the support some.
17
I'm still lost.

If you have, for argument's sake, 500 2A supporters, and those people are already not going to vote for Rhodes, those numbers are already 'cooked' into his polling numbers.

if those same 500 voters and call Rhodes and tell him, "I'm not voting for you next election, because you don't support a cease fire in Gaza," the poll numbers don't change.  He's still getting the same votes as before, and he's still losing the same 500 votes from 2A supporters -- only now the 500 have an alternate reason not to support him.

Unless we can convince others outside the 2A community to support one of his opponents who has a good shot at defeating him, I don't see where we'd be doing anything other than piling onto our list of reason we still won't vote for Rhodes.  The opponent would have to support 2A, of course, and that's not going to be an easy order to fill.

What am i missing?
there is no opponent.  there is no credible opponent.

General Discussion / Re: if "assault rifles" are to blame
« on: March 10, 2024, 08:18:20 PM »
maybe the car jacking was committed with a Barret 50BMG, after all Karl Rhoads says up to mile-and-a-half.

and maybe the game room gun had an evil pistol grip.

 :shake:
19
i wonder if they had give him some extra meds, to make up for the 17 minutes.

The standard way to measure a rifle is from inside the barrel with the bolt forward. Stick a rod down it until it stops. HPD does confiscate SBR's like 1 or 2 a year, but i'm unsure of what barrel length.  These are probably people who moved here from the mainland. Also IDK if they were charged with anything since it was confiscated at HPD when they tried to register it.

That's good that MPD doesn't want to look at your rifles.  Yukutake, etal vs. Conners (HI AG at the time), lawsuit by HIFICO allows online reg if you buy the gun from a HI FFL. There is no need to bring these guns to the police station anymore.  But private party or out of state, then you must bring the gun to the police station.  Prior to this lawsuit settlement, all guns had to be brough into the police stations in your county.  This was changed like 1 or 2 years ago.

I did look into pullpups, but decided against them.

1) The Tavor felt very off balance.  Compare this to an AUG, Keltec RDB or Desert Tech MDR.  Then the gen 1 Tavors, I like their mag release compared to the gen 2's.

2) If I went with Aug, I need all new mags as it doesn't accept Pmags.

3) The price of bullpups are often double what you can get a basic AR for.

4) The cheaper one, like the Keltec, felt cheap and not as sturdy. I never looked into it's reliability, but it is a Keltec after all so....

5) Then the IDF switched from the Tavor back to the M4. So this combat tested army did so for a reason.
since the Gaza dust-up, been watching some of the IDF action videos posted on their channels on Telegram.  Seems like the Tavors are getting a workout, since it's seems mostly urban CQB.  Could be also because it's all hands on-deck, any-and-all weapons to the front.  Carry-handle A1's through M4's through Tavors.  seems like there's quite a few 10.3" also.
