OPPOSE SB3196 – Assault Weapon Ban

Bans the acquisition of nearly all semi-automatic rifles with a detachable magazine.  To include AR15’s, M1 Carbines, Ruger 10/22, and everything else you can think of.  It also:

Bans the acquisition of semi-auto shotguns with a detachable magazine or capable of holding more than 5 shells.

Bans long gun magazines over 10 rounds, even currently owned ones.

Bans pistols meeting the new definition of assault pistols, even currently owned ones like the desert eagle.

Bans acquisition of assault weapon parts – telescoping stocks, flash suppressors, pistol grips replacement parts, etc.

Bans importation of these firearms and parts into the State.  If you take one of these firearms out of the Hawaii, you cannot bring it back.

Bans 50 caliber rifles

Further restricts places to keep these firearms – example:  cannot hunt with them on public hunting lands.

 

OPPOSE SB2845 – Ammo under 21

Bans the sale, transfer, and possession of ammunition to people under 21 years of age.

 

Testifying in writing:

Write comments on why you oppose it.  How it affects you.   How it’s unconstitutional.  Any professional knowledge you may have. Etc.

Go to the capitol room 225 on 2-14-24.

Wait for the bill to be called, then your name to be called.

You have 1 or 2 minutes to talk.
