We have just been informed that the action bays at Kokohead Shooting Complex will not be open for use by clubs until Oahu is in Tier 4.  We had previously been told that we would be allowed to use the Action Bays when Oahu was in Tier 3. Please contact Mayor Blagiardi and Laura Thielen, Director of the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation, to express your concern and disappointment with the continued closure of the action bays.

I haven't been there for many years. What's it like?

I am planning to order a custom 24", 308 barrel (Criterion "Remage") from Northland Shooters Supply for a Remington 700 single shot action. This will be used mostly at Koko Head, so 100 yards, with an occasional 300 yard range on private land, no hunting. I already have a 700 5R in 308. I was planning to order the bull barrel contour, possibly fluted, but was wondering about the other contours offered; sporter, heavy sporter, light varmit, MTU(?) and light, standard and heavy palma. What are reasons to consider these other contours?

I wasn't old enough to care, but one of my eighth grade teachers made him out to be a great President, and this was after he got impeached.

Well, for a few more weeks anyway and then it will be Lt. Colonel Oliver North.

This is my second batch of 308 reloads. The rifle is a Remington 700 with 26" heavy barrel. The cases are Kaleo Arms processed brass, CCI primers, Sierra 150 grain Game King Boat Tail bullets and Varget. The unfired rounds have 46 grains Varget (ran out of time to shoot), then 45.5, 45, 44.5 and 44 grains. There was at least one round in each load that the primers flattened with square edges (top row). The same thing happened on my first reloads so I wrote the powder charge on each case so I am sure I didn't mix up the charges. Is this normal, I thought the flattening and square edges happens when getting to the max charge.
