But yeah, all it takes is one bad CCW holder and all of a sudden all CCW holders are cold blooded killers itching to shoot somebody.
I agree with the "abuse it, lose it" theory -- for the individuals that abuse it. Punishing everyone who did nothing wrong because of others' bad acts is about as wrong as anything can be.
Historically, the US doesn't see anywhere near the number of CCW holders committing crimes as we do people without permits. I'd also wager the number of times a CCW holder protects themselves or others from a threat far exceeds the number of times a CCW holder commits a violent crime.
We know the people with issued permits (excluding Constitutional Carry) have passed a thorough background check, have no history of criminal convictions or domestic violence, and normally had to demonstrate proficiency with their firearm. Given that, if I had to choose from a pool of strangers who I'd trust to follow the law, it's the CCW holders. I know nothing about the non-permit-holders other than they don't legally carry.

I didn't want to be "that guy" who posts a bunch of spoilers before everyone else has a chance to see it first.
First impressions: They used a LOT of the same plot devices from the first Predator movie, but once you're convinced the scene is a blatant rip-off from the original, they take you in an unexpected direction. I like a movie where I can't predict what's going to happen scene-to-scene.
Bottom line: I liked it. The ending, as with almost every movie the last 20+ years, could have had a better wrap-up.
Obviously the script writer is a Millennial. Many of the phrases used were current slang, something I highly doubt anyone a few hundred years ago would have used, much less Native Americans.
p.s. I think the Skullcandy headphones made a big difference in being able to enjoy the movie. I could crank the volume and enjoy the bass effects without disturbing the neighbors .... and their neighbors ... and so on!

NV has a Castle Doctrine that says you have no duty to retreat from your HOME OR VEHICLE before using deadly force against an intruder despite the perceived or actual intent of the intruder. I see nothing like this for businesses. The "stabber" had the chance to flee, but he chose to remain and fight. I don't think that's within the law for self defense.

Immunity agreements have one purpose -- to shield someone from prosecution so they will agree to testify about others' crimes, which essentially means they have no call to plead the fifth.
Why were so many immunity deals struck for her email servers, classified mishandling and illegal communications on unauthorized devices without a single charge resulting from them? Hmmm.....
The FBI should be investigated at least on that.

When was the last time you spent any time somewhere other than your island?
I've been on Oahu since 1992, and I can't remember a single time I needed to burn cola, oil or wood to "keep warm."
Even though HECO corporation provides 95% of power in the state, each county has its own power production operations center. On Hawaii Island (that's "The Big Island" for anyone not keeping up), the operations are managed by HELCO. Those are the people responsible for your power plants. HECO is responsible for Oahu. I don't think either operations division tells the others what to do or what to charge. Your bill reflects the cost to produce and distribute electricity in Hawaii County. Oahu's problems have nothing to do with it.
BTW, HELCO is using wind and hydroelectric to "go green," whereas HECO/Oahu os creating a large number of solar farms to "go green" here.

Long gun, or handgun?
If you owned a long gun before July 1, 1994, it's already legal without registering due to it being grandfathered. Handguns need to be registered.
If you take it in to be registered, the department will ask how you came to own it and possibly contact whoever transferred ownership to you to verify how and when it arrived in Hawaii.
If you decide to transfer/sell it to someone else, the new owner will register it. It'll no longer be grandfathered.
That's how I remember it. That's also on the Hawaii PD Website under exceptions:

I've tried to order many items from Amazon that were either standalone batteries or products that contain batteries.
The regs on shipping these batteries via air are straightforward. Yet, Amazon and its sellers summarily restrict shipping these items to Hawaii. Once in a while I happen upon a listing that will ship here, but it takes time to click on each listing not knowing if anyone will ship here.
I ordered a pair of Bluetooth headphones from Costco this weekend. They arrived today. Here's what they did to comply with the "OMG! Lithium Batteries Inside!!" hysterical regs. Why can't all electronics retailers figure this out?

Probably a planned outage.
I have the HECO Android App on my phone. The power here in Mililani was out a couple weeks ago from about 9:00pm until midnight, give or take.
I got ZERO notices from HECO. I did, however, get notices from the Spectrum app telling me their network was down at the beginning of the power outage, and that they were up again when the power came on.
The HECO app is useful if you use it to REPORT or view existing outages, but the notifications suck. You can also view your bill on it.
Just something to look into if interested.

Positioning weapons as tools of destruction and intimidation rather than a useful tool that should be respected and can be use for sporting and defense. I don't care if it is your right, strapping on all your weapons to go shopping at Walmart is stupid.

The DOJ, FBI and WH are strangely silent. I remember when they couldn't get in front of the microphones fast enough when Hillary's emails were being investigated -- which was shoved upon Comey after USAG Lynch met with Bill Clinton on a plane the week Hillary was to testify.
The reason we are bringing up the Bidens and Clintons (since you can't figure it out) is not to distract, but to point out the blatant hypocrisy and political weaponizing of the DOJ, and how there's a different system of laws for each of us depending on whether we drink the Socialist/Democrat/Liberal Kool-aid or not.
