Nah, they are all Coturnix quail, they come in various different color mixs or

I do have 2 hybrids in my mix tho  tho. These white ones are Texas A&M that are product of selective breeding to grow faster for meat. I also have a jumbo hybrid strain which lays larger eggs.

So most of the babys that i have now are going to go in the freezer in a couple/few of weeks, Would any of you be interested in coming to watch/help/learn We can grill some up for lunch and you guys can get an idea of what work goes into trying to raise (some of) your own food in an urban environment.

Pickled eggs, 6 months refrigerated

Salted eggs im not sure on, some places im seeign 40 days other places 6 months to a year.

So the quails are processed and packed, 8 weeks from putting the in the incubator, they are ready to be cooked. In total we got 9 meals (for 4) and a whole bunch of spines for stock. I still have 20 birds left (5 more meals) but 10 are spoken for and the other 10 i might keep to breed,

We have started baking our own bread as well.  We eat a lot of naan bread as its fast to make and tastes delicious.
