I'm glad.  I think the conventional forces deserve a lot of credit for their service in the GWOT.

My father in law (may he Rest in Peace) probably saw more horror and action as a young 11B private in Korea and as a Master Sergeant doing 2 tours in Vietnam than some of these "quiet professionals".  Career Army.  My wife said as they were growing up they hardly saw him as he was stationed all over the place while mom and kids stayed home with grandparents.

2 purple hearts and a sheared off thumb and nobody knows how it happened.  He never talked about his service.

To me he was the epitome of Quiet Professional.
