HHAA sent out an email to it's members today saying the show is still a go.  Keep in mind that the C&C or NBC could cancel at any time

Reloading / Re: *new to reloading.... powder measure question.
« on: March 10, 2026, 04:24:32 PM »
I'm partial to the drum-type measures (Hornady, RCBS, etc) versus the sliding charge bar (Dillon) or the ones that use the disks (Lee).  You are getting into reloading at a good time.  Many old timers are getting rid of their stuff.  You can probably score great reloading deals at the upcoming gun show

went on knife sites yesterday
not much sale action yet...

I've carried the same pocket knife for over 20 years and thinking about switching to an OTF knife.  What are a few good websites to look at?  Thanks

Reloading / Powder gone bad
« on: November 05, 2025, 04:13:47 PM »
Sometimes it won't be this obvious - there was also a sour smell to the powder. 4350 is one of my favorite powders.  :(

Sometimes you'll notice a slight brown mist when emptying powder that comes from old metal cans but the powder looks and smells OK.  I've shot a lot of powder like that and never had problems.

Hard to tell, but it almost appears like brass deposited onto the slide versus gouges in the slide.

The issuing bank for Costco's VISA is Citibank.  Since I declined the insurance from the car rental I believe that the VISA insurance becomes the primary.  When processing the claim they did ask for a copy of the declarations page from my personal car insurance.

This story rings true for me.  In the early 80s I worked in a small local supermarket.  The welfare Moms would make small purchases (like a pack of gum) with food stamps and use the change to buy cigarettes - a pack cost about $1 back then.

The tire was punctured by a piece of metal that sliced the tread area so a plug or patch wouldn't have fix it.  This was driving on county gravel roads in the Midwest.  If it was a nail or screw I'd have taken it to Sam's Club to get it repaired for free

I had a flat tire while on vacation. The car was rented from Thrifty.  The flat was not repairable.  I put on the spare and got a new vehicle.  I used the Costco VISA to rent the vehicle and declined the insurance from Thrifty.  I received a bill for over $400 to replace the tire (this includes loss of use charges for the vehicle).  Costco's insurance covered all but 3% of the claim.  It was pretty easy to do online, but there was a lot of paperwork to scan and upload.  It took about 6 weeks to get reimbursed.
