Went to register a rifle I got through a private sale today. Parked on Beretania close to Ward, a little after 4 PM, put an hour on the meter. Had 46 minutes left when I got back.
https://2ahawaii.com/index.php?topic=52197.0 My situation is almost exactly the same as yours. My FFL long gun item was delivered yesterday but I haven't heard from my FFL. I contacted a couple of other gun shops and they said my permit is still valid until it expires.
Disregard the other guy. Your permit is still good until April of 2024.
I am sorry if I gave wrong information and Motorman has always been a reliable source. This is good news for me as my FFL item doesn't look like it will be here by the end of the year. The FFL holder I use told me my permit will be void after December 31 because of new requirements and he will store my item until I get a new permit.
Can a civilian own a fully armed Aircraft Carrier? I would staff with retired military and learn how to fly fighter jets. Set it up for recreational use.
What do I need to do while selling a firearm to a private individual? Do I need to do anything with HPD after I sell my handgun? Mahalo
If the buyer provides you with the permit to acquire, specific to your handgun, from HPD and registers the hand gun, you do not need to do anything else.
There's an alternate theory to having expensive EDC items:
The more it costs, the more likely you'll keep up with it.
I used to buy Craftsman screw driver sets from this place called Sears. For whatever reason, I would end up losing the sizes I use the most and buy another set for about ten or twenty bucks. About fifteen years ago I bought a set from the Snap-on truck for around $280. Those screw drivers have had a lot of use on them and I still have the complete set . . . knocking on wood.
