if the power is out statewide, then so is the internet and cell towers.  So the only electronics I could use is a TV to play DVD's.  But, I have no DVD's.  For news coverage, we have a hand crankable radio.  Not sure if the cable company relies on power as well.

My food in the fridge isn't that much, so there is no need to power it.  I have other types of SHTF foods.

WHen I had T-moble and there was a blackout statewide, I had no internet (didn't use wifi).  Unsure about other carriers.  The blackout that I did XP recently with Verizon, wasn't a statewide blackout, but the rolling ones and I had internet.  But the wifi was down, due to the router not having power.  So I just used my verizon mobile data.

I would use it for my phone.   Even with no signal it's useful.  Can charge lights. Radios etc
