I use these guys when it gets bad. The xylitol ones work pretty decent for killing off infections before they get too deep.

I also use this when I feel a cold or sore throat coming on, and gargle with salt water.  I believe it help me not get COVID when my wife got it from her sister last December.

Easy to make your own.

8oz of water
1/2 teaspoon of non-iodized salt (sea salt is best)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp xylitol

Dissolve mixture w/ hot water and add to a neti pot. Make sure to let it cool until you can handle the pot without it feeling hot or overly warm in your hand.

The xylitol doesn't directly kill infections like an antimicrobial, but rather coats the surface of your nasal membranes and prevents/reduces bacteria adhesion. It also provides a food source for bacteria that doesn't provide energy for them, in turn causing them to starve.

Baking soda changes the pH of the nasal cavities, making it inhospitable to most bacteria that prefer acidic environments.

The salt creates a saline solution that doesn't irritate the membranes. Never use any nasal rinses that haven't been salinated or you'll cause more irritation.

kinda
it deprives the bacteria that consume sugars for food of sugar/carbs, and allows the bacteria that consume alcohols to proliferate more than they normally would
this changes the bacterial colonization ratio of your nasal/sinus area...

I use a mixture of 1% Hydrogen Peroxide (food grade not the .99 drug store stuff) and distilled water and squirt into my sinuses (till it drips down to my throat) when I feel a cold coming on or when I develop sinus headaches.  If there is an infection present my sinuses burn (akin to mustard of wasabi burning the nose) for a few seconds.  My sinus headaches are gone within 10 - 15 minutes or sooner.  If i don't catch a cold soon enough my cold is drastically reduced time wise.  So instead of lasting up to 2 weeks (coughing ,running nose etc.) its reduced to a week or less.  Have not had a bad cold for years since doing this.  Now when I travel to the mainland or Japan I spray my sinuses when I get to my destination to be proactive against any viruses I may have caught during the flight or when visiting.  If there are no infections going on there is no burning sensations then you're all good.     Oh by the way the food grade Peroxide comes as 3% concentration so you would need to reduce it with distilled water to 1% (distilled water only any other type of water will render the peroxide useless).
