IIRC there is supposed to be some sort of health hazard in doing that.

types of sight cuts. For example you can't install a Bomar sight on a slide cut for Novak.I tried installing sights on my slide and I did not have the right tools or the experience to do it. I also wanted a new front sight as my older Springfield had a staked on front sight. Dave Salyer cut a dovetail and installed a higher blade.
