I personally don't care for chicken sandwiches.  But obviously a lot of people do.

I personally wouldn't block right of ways to wait in drive thru's lines to get a chicken sandwich.  But obviously a lot of people would.

I personally would rather do something else than wait 25 minutes or more for a chicken sandwich.  But obviously a lot of people feel it's worth it.

I am in the minority.

It's hard to describe how Chick-fil-A is more than just a chicken sandwich if you didn't grow up in an area that had them.

It's like trying to describe KrispyKremes to someone who only ever ate Dunkin'.   

The lines you describe back up my opinion -- very popular for a reason.

I prefer my chicken Kung Pao or Gen Tso's style.

Actually, on our last trip to Vegas my BIL insisted we stop by Chick Fil-A.  He was the driver so I went along. I've had chicken sandwiches before but never had one from Chick Fil-A.

I must admit it was very good.

I do love chicken.  But I love it with mashed potatoes, fries, rice, vegetables and stuff.  Not bread.

I had a couple Chic-fil-A sandwiches for dinner a few days ago.
One was ok. The other was weird as it had a slice of green apple in the middle.

Growing up in the South, it was very common for a worker or student to take a piece of fried chicken and a biscuit, roll, or plain slice of white bread as their lunch.

Cold chicken is good, and the bread can be turned into a chicken sandwich/biscuit.

Sometimes simpler is better.  Chicken is a very versatile meat.  It's why the taste of everything else is compared to chicken!

Long ago when I was a keed my mom and us keeds got invited to her BFF house for dinner.

When dinner was served the dish kinda looked like fried chicken but something about the shape.......

My mom asked what that was and her friend just laughed and said "just eat...."

So we ate.  And after my mom's friend said it was rabbit.  She had a good laugh out of it.  My mom didn't.

And for us keeds it didn't matter.  We were hungry and it tasted good.

Soak anything in teriyaki sauce and it tastes good.

Nowadays they can make anything taste like anything.
I had fake beef jerky made from mung beans. It fooled some of my coworkers.
