Check out Hanwei swords. There used to be a couple of local dealers, one working out of a self-storage office. I’d have to look up the card and invoice, but they were really good. Helped with getting warranty on one of the nicer katanas that I bought. I also have a few of their “practical” line, which are meant for practice cutting. I have a few katanas and a shinobi. All great and comes super sharp.

Bear spray.

Because why use a foam or gel type when you can soak them head to toe.
I'd pay for bear spray to test on macsak  ;D

==========
I'd pay a dollar to see that....and shoot a viral tik tok video too.
I'd seriously put way more $$$ on that. . .

At least, this would be legal to test. Compared to Tasers.

I’m sure there’s a legal way to test tasers… specifically on you!  ;D

i'm betting that they do this at the academy...
I will offer some gel pepper spray to test. . . on you. . .  ;D

People should read this org's FB page.  There are many errors on it.  I mean, the anti 2a's tactic is to lie, half truths/leave info out, etc...So not really surprised.
sounds like some supposed pro-2a on this board. . . when it fits their agenda

Firearms and Accessories / Trijicon RCR - First Impressions
« on: May 15, 2024, 07:59:41 AM »
Received my Trijicon RCR late last week. I've been waiting for this RDS for over a year now, and seems like they are finally coming back in stock in a few online vendors.  I will soon have a Glock 17.5 milled for the RCR, so it will be a while until I get to shoot the new setup.

As posted in other threads on pistol RDS, I am very much a fan of enclosed emitter RDS.  I still own a few open emitter RDS (RMR, SRO, and am going to try the CHPWS Comp).  However, I've been mostly shooting my pistols with enclosed emitter RDS in training and competition.  I shoot both the ACRO and EPS in pistol matches regularly, and have the EPS and EPS Carry on CCW pistols.  I qualified previously with a 19.3 with RMR, but I have since sold that setup.

Initial impressions are that the RDS is quite compact.  The window is slightly smaller than the EPS, both height and width.  The window is wider than ACRO P2, but ACRO is much taller.  Compared with the RMR Type 2, it’s about the same size and shape, including the rounded top portion of the window.  However, window size overall doesn't matter that much to me when shooting, and don't really notice it.  However, something I noticed upon quick inspection and many folks notice when comparing optics.

Another common observation of the Trijicon optics is the tint of the window.  It has a slight blue hue, similar to RMR, but it doesn’t bother me.  I have only looked through the RCR inside my condo and was trying to notice and distortion or slight magnification at say 7-10 yards and didn’t notice anything, or at least anything very different than the EPS or ACRO.

Here or other websites?
Mostly on IG.  I've seen many recently.  Nothing new.  It's been a while since I've shot my 1911s a lot, but I do recall that discussion/debate.  Been looking at 2011s here and there, so noticed those discussions/videos lately.

There are some on forums and individual person or group webpages, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

The next thing I want to test is how many rounds can I fire without an excessive amount of jamming, without cleaning. Just applying oil only.
What is excessive?  On your toast?

But serious, check out discussion on 1911s and 2011s on functioning with dry or oil, and recoil spring weights.

My contribution.  Don't shoot corroded ammo.  And don't shoot lots of corroded ammo to practice misfire drills.

interesting that the powder was wet. . .

I shot my Glock 48 w/EPS Carry on my Taccon trip.  It was the first time I used it for training and first event using a red dot.  I was able to make good hits from the draw up to 35 yards.  I'm still a bit slow up close, for acquiring the dot.  I did pickup a couple of bad habits, I tend to shoot slightly left under speed, probably due to the smaller grip.  And I tilt my head to the gun side to acquire the dot I think.  Gun ran flawlessly over 250 rounds.  It's my regular CCW gun.  I brought a Glock 43 as a backup and I use it for deep concealment.  That gun is harder to shoot well and takes a lot of practice.  It's adequate out to 15 yards and difficult at 25 yards.

I gave up on appendix carry as it can be painful sitting down, I might try it again after I lose weight.  The C&G holster was fine and I CC it around Dallas.

The common guns at Taccon were Glock 43x, Glock 19, and Sig 365s, with 2/3rds using optics and doing appendix carry.  A bunch had Shields and a few people had Glock 43s.
I’ve found that with the 43x, I have to be more conscious of my grip. Tendency is to either not have sufficient clamping or over grip with right hand. Interesting that in the CCW qual I shot recently two of the Charlies were 12 o’clock.

In classes, seeing a lot of Sig micro pistols, with some Glock 43x and occasional 48.

Resurrecting an old thread.

Qualified with the 43x, along with the 17.5 for the Honolulu CCW course of fire last week. Have been spending more time shooting the 43x overall, and also eventually want to shoot it in an USPSA match.  The setups between the 43x and 17.5 are quite similar, in Overwatch trigger, EPS (carry for 43x and regular for 17.5), and laser stippled grip.  The 17.5 has a Streamlight TLR7A, and the 43x is the no rail version.

I have maybe 3k rounds on this 17.5 and maybe 200 rounds on the 43x.  I shot the qual clean with the 17.5 and at a decent pace (and cold).  Followed with (3)C with the 43x with also a decent pace.  No surprise there as I have a lot more time with the 17.5 and it fits my hands better.  I do want to spend more time with the 43x moving forward.  The wider grip of the 17.5 makes it easier to have "stronger clamping" support hand grip, in addition to just being more comfortable with shooting the full sized framed Glocks.

For CCW considerations, while I can conceal the 17.5 just fine, I've found the 43x is easier in many ways and more comfortable.  The shorter barrel length doesn't contribute to trouble with concealment (as noted by many on YT), as well as being more comfortable when sitting.  Also makes it easier with to pee (added that for CMO) without removing the pistol.

Overall happy with the 43x as I shoot it more and more.
