I eneded up buying this Dojo Pro Katana used on ebay.  It was a very good deal at $190 for a good condition sword.  New it costs $337 with shipping.  It has good reviews and is very durable.

The Hanwei and Cold Steel also have good reviews.  But I feel I got a good deal on the Dojo Pro.   won't feel bad if I break it.

I want to buy a Katana and do some training with it, at least to a novice level.  Need some recommendations on what to buy and where to train at.

On my research, I've seen that Katana's can be damaged very easily and it requires a good amount of skill to cut things properly.  So I'm considering starting with a cheap used monosteel Katana like a Dojo Pro for around $200.  Then later on look at a Motohara or similar that looks nice but can still be used.  Am I on the right track?

Can I bring a splintered paddle? Never know when I might need to fend off a 7' tall murderous member of the ruling class.

So now any cop who is convicted of a misdemeanor is an automatic felon, correct?

The additional felony isn't automatic.  The prosecutor has to charge the person with it.  It could apply to law enforcement.

However, law enforcement can still possess firearms with a felony, under Hawaii law, as long as it's not domestic violence.

I can picture it now..

"Our squad is about to be overrun by 100 heavily armed taliban fighters, request support"
"Don't worry we got you covered.  We're sending you a dozen green berrets"

A dozen cooks show up with supper.

If that were true then why would we be trying to break up Russia via proxy war in order to get at their oil?

Our fight with Russia is more ensuring they don't get away with it than oil.  Making sure Russia knows their place in the world and doesn't attack other countries, to include NATO, or do other shenanigans.  If it was about oil, we'd have troops in Ukraine.  It's also about sending a message to China not to attack Taiwan which is a vital US interest for their microchip manufacturing.  Russia's economy and population is wrecked and will be for a generation.

Oil and gas is involved.  Weening Europe off Russian oil and gas and getting other countries to reduce.  Russia currently occupies Ukraine's oil and gas fields.  If they retain that and the seaports, Ukraine will be more broke in the future allowing for Russia to take over in a third invasion, military or politically

The main reason we got involved with middle East was was oil.  Back then it was extremely important to our interests.  Not as much nowadays since we can produce all of our own oil.  However other countries still depend on that oil, and the US depends on those countries for trade and security.

For Israel, the US was important to it's creation, it's like our renegade child.  The world knows the US will protect Israel.  And that gives the US military credibility.  If another nation messes with US interests, they know the US will respond.  This has led to a relatively peaceful era.

And there are economic interests.  We provide aid to Israel, but we get a lot in return.  Israel is an important trade partner.  They purchase a lot of US military equipment.  They also do joint development with the US.  A lot of US corporations operate in Israel like Intel who has a large chip manufacturing plant and does a lot of R&D there.

Angle?  Explain why it's not a fact that Israel is THE non-Muslim majority country in the Middle East surrounded by nearly HALF A BILLION Muslims in no fewer than 16 other countries/nations?

Just wanted to correct it as Israel is almost 20% Muslim population.

....
So, explain why such a small area like Israel with about 10M citizens needs to give up land to Palestine with a population over half the size of Israel's?  Just how cramped must Israel make it's people live in order to surrender their land to another nation when the Muslim world refuses to do the same?

Give reasons for why the other 15 Muslim nations should not offer to give the Palestinians part of their massive land area?  With over 436M people collectively, Palestine would only increase their combined population by just over 1% -- not exactly a huge drain on the Muslim world's resources, is it?

Technically Israel doesn't have to give up land.  Gaza belongs to Egypt.  West Bank belongs to Jordan.  Not sure about the younger populace, but the older ones are citizens of those respective nations.  Egypt and Jordan are the ones that supposed to take care of their people, the Palestinians.  But they're like homeless people.  No one wants them.

Israel was forced into managing their problems.

This is an interesting discussion with Mosab Hussan Yousef, a former Palestinian ex-militant who later sides with Israel and moved to the US.  He's also the son of a Hamas founder.  He knows from the inside and exposes the evils of Hamas.

More entertainingly is the journalist taking the side of Hamas.  Going over the talking points and making like she  represents the Palestinians.  It's like she thinks she's a Palestinian herself.

No laws.  do it safely and have a good backstop.  Ensure you can't accidentally send an arrow over a fence into your neighbor's home.

Interesting bio - https://www.civilbeat.org/author/naka-nathaniel/.  You'd think he would be supporting gun rights with his experience and history.

...his child has only been to the ER five times (three due to animal attacks.)

...going to Darfur to continue reporting on the genocide (it was the fifth of sixth trips to the region.)

...was detained while working in Iran, Sudan, Gaza and China.

He is one of a handful of Americans who has been in North Korea, but not South Korea.

Off Topic / 911 - no one available to take your call

Sad to see people come into these situations and learning no one is coming to help you.  A bottle of OC could've prevented this.

My friend said he had a similar situation twice for non-emergencies.  He got the same message and had to keep calling back

Staff shortages plague Honolulu’s 911 system

When Kenneth Jacob, a 75-year-old Waikiki resident, was attacked by a man on the Ala Moana bridge over the Ala Wai Canal, he yelled, “Call 911."

Jacob’s automated phone assistant Siri called immediately...Instead, Jacob got an automated message indicating that no one was available to take his call.

He said that he also wanted first responders to come quickly to address the lump on his temple and three broken ribs.

Another question is insurance.  If you insure the package and it gets lost.  Will they be able to deny the claim due to no declaration?

GWU professor calls on anti-Israel students to leave dorms paid by 'mommy and daddy,' go to Gaza

"Since you are skipping classes (if you are actually a student), why not go volunteer to help in Gaza?" Roth asked. "Many American Jews have gone to help in Israel on farms and kibbutzes to provide missing labor as so many Israelis have been called up to military service. If you really want to help, why don't you go where you really could make a difference for the people you profess to be supporting?"

Anyone ditching hemostatic gauze to go with plain gauze?  My quick clots are expiring and I got four to replace.  Ive heard the same as the video, regular gauze does 90% of the job at 10% of the price.

Looking at the organizing campaign Hamas did worldwide throughout the years, it's very impressive.  Getting organizers, US youth, democratic party, political donors, media, and majority of UN nations to support a terrorist cause and flip the narrative.  Even the other Arab nations that hate Palestinians are supporting them in the surface.  Even the deadly fights between Shia and Sunni Muslims have been set aside.  Palestinians are Sunni and are allied with Iran who is Shia.
