Since graduating from high school almost ninety years ago, the only vaccine I have gotten was Tetanus every time I got stitched up in emergency rooms. I just got another text from Long's advising me that I will benefit getting the Shingles vaccination. I did have chicken pox as a kid.

Just found out from Devin at Bushido Arms that you can download the 4473 fillable PDF form off the ATF website. Fill out before you get to the Gun Shop or FFL. Tried to include a link but no skills.

Got this at Costco Iwilei, twenty bucks. Realized they would be great for storing reloading supplies and parts, went back and bought two more.

General Discussion / Koko Head Action Bays Won't Open Until Tier 4
« on: February 28, 2021, 10:16:52 PM »
Email from HRA;

Aloha Everyone,

We have just been informed that the action bays at Kokohead Shooting Complex will not be open for use by clubs until Oahu is in Tier 4.  We had previously been told that we would be allowed to use the Action Bays when Oahu was in Tier 3. Please contact Mayor Blagiardi and Laura Thielen, Director of the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation, to express your concern and disappointment with the continued closure of the action bays.

General Discussion / I Got Flagged by HPD for Too Many Appointments
« on: February 16, 2021, 10:05:09 PM »
I got a call from a Lieutenant in the Firearms Division because I had too many appointments for pta and registration. The officer said because of the complaints of not being able to get an appointment, no shows, people selling appointments, etc..., they will allow two appointments for pta and two appointments for registration per person for each month. The officer was really cool about it and told be to cancel any excess appointments I have. He said there are a lot of people flagged.

"The last day for extended hours to apply for a firearm permit and to register fireams is Tuesday, December 29,2020." That is what is stated on the Firearms appointment page.

Firearms and Accessories / Barrel Contours
« on: August 01, 2020, 09:42:12 PM »
I am planning to order a custom 24", 308 barrel (Criterion "Remage") from Northland Shooters Supply for a Remington 700 single shot action. This will be used mostly at Koko Head, so 100 yards, with an occasional 300 yard range on private land, no hunting. I already have a 700 5R in 308. I was planning to order the bull barrel contour, possibly fluted, but was wondering about the other contours offered; sporter, heavy sporter, light varmit, MTU(?) and light, standard and heavy palma. What are reasons to consider these other contours?

General Discussion / Discharging a Firearm on Private Property
« on: September 28, 2019, 03:25:50 PM »
I had discussions today at the gun show with Hunters Ed, HRA and HIFCO with different answers. Can someone post an actual law that states it is illegal to discharge a firearm on private residential property within the City and County of Honolulu . I'm not so great at looking up these things but what I could find was discharging a firearm toward a populated area or roadway is reckless endangering. I do know the projectile cannot leave the property and there is a noise ordinance limiting decibels and duration. I looked at previous threads about this, which also had conflicting opinions, but no post contained the actual worded law that states it is illegal to discharge a firearm on private residential property within the City and County of Honolulu.

I wasn't old enough to care, but one of my eighth grade teachers made him out to be a great President, and this was after he got impeached.
