Trump is doing it again. He got the Europeans to spend more on defense and now they need to do more.
Trump knows that many of the leaders have TDS. He also knows how to force them to do his bidding.

I wish Trump were that clever. Sadly that is remotely believable.

How many happy meals would it take to buy Greenland?

i guess you haven't seen the number of troops that were sent
a few dozen total for all of NATO
not exactly showing they are taking things seriously...

The Trump administration has expressed interest in acquiring Greenland. People in the Trump administration have explained it as if it were a land purchase but Denmark has said it isn't for sale. Trump has hinted that the US needs it and would take it one way or the other, saying anything other than US control is unnacceptable.

Now a number of European countries and Nato partners have been sending contingents of soldiers to Greenland. This could be seen as a middle finger to Trump but I have also seen it explained as a gesture that NATO countries do take seriously obligations to protect NATO territory in light of criticisms that they don't do enough for European defense.

Best case scenario Trump backs off and plays it off as just an offer to buy Greenland. Worst case scenario Denmark and Greenlanders refuse the officer, Trump takes military action and then... WW3?

Canada isn’t a legitimate country anymore. Their elections are stolen, the people have no rights, and now they are handing over control to the CCP.

First, we, the citizens, may have a right to comment about another country, i.e., Canada or Greenland, but we have no right to speak for Canada, Greenland or Denmark.

If you believe that there are enough Canadians to hand over control of their country to the CCP, you must be drinking too many diet cokes, like Trump. Visit Canada and speak to real citizens to ask them their reaction to tariffs imposed by the U.S. vs. China. Canadians feel betrayed by the US.

IMHO, the US handed over its manufacturing base to the CCP starting with Nixon and Kissinger.  Most fat cat US capitalists have sold their country to the commies, and these rich men are laughing their way to the bank, 24/7.

They froze people’s bank accounts for donating to the trucker protest. It’s a tin pot dictatorship and we would be welcomed as liberators.

I say start with Alberta. Let them vote to secede and then on the first sign of election fraud our tanks roll in. The rest of the nation will come to its senses after a long winter with no oil.

UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia.

So sad all the soldiers they lost fighting the Axis Powers, only to slouch their way deep into clutches of the exact same authoritarianism they supposedly defeated.

History is cruel, but the arc of authoritarianism is crystal clear now.

Same as it ever was.

Don’t take our word for it:

A 100-year-old British World War II veteran lamented that the current state of the United Kingdom was not the one he and his comrades fought for in World War II in an interview on Friday.

"My message is, I can see in my mind’s eye, rows and rows of white stones, of all the hundreds of my friends and everybody else, that gave their lives – for what?" he replied to the show’s hosts. "The country of today… No, I'm sorry, the sacrifice wasn’t worth the result that it is now."
