Local Aquaponics Forum
« on: February 03, 2014, 10:43:28 AM »
While trying to break up the monotony of my work today I came across this forum.  Like minded people in Hawaii who are into aquaponics and farming.

http://aquaponicsinparadise.com/APforums/index.php

I registered for the forum with the same screen name.

I looked in to aquaponics but its too easy to kill all the fish. My friend has a pretty good handle on it now so maybe I'll borrow some of his experience one day.

Use my system.

10x cheaper than aquaponics, and same if not better results for 1/10th the work  :shaka:

Where did you get the info for the setup of your system?  The ones I've seen on Youtube and stuff don't look like yours with the buckets and soil.  It must be a lot more productive than the ones I've seen with just the hydroponic grow media.  I'm always looking into trying new gardening ideas especially for smaller spaces like townhouse courtyards.

I make it myself.

Trade secret, so I can't tell you how I make mine. But you can start with compost and a very absorbent growing material like peat moss; ratio is 1 part compost : 1-2 parts peat moss, and any amendments you feel are necessary

Oh, you do this for business? OK thanks I will see what I come up with.

What area are you in (roughly) and is the fence facing south ?
