A hearing for this is coming up.  I know some ICE/Border guys working here.  Hope they retire in the feds if this passes.

Attroney's Alan Beck and Kevin O'Grady are representing them.

HRS says permits to acquire shall be issued/denied by the 40th day,  it's past that.

General Discussion / Do you view movies differntly???
« on: February 09, 2026, 01:06:03 PM »
I didn't grow up learning about guns. So now that I am, I view movies in a different way now. Esp movies that I haven't seen in a while.  How about you guys?

Example:

Watching Robocop 1

The "holes" that's being left in the target when Robocop 1st shoots at the range are huge.  Even a 3 wound burst wouldn't do that.

When Murphy enters the warehouse, his "room clearing" is laughable.  I mean, entering a huge warehouse type facility when it's 6 vs 2 is laughable too.

During the car chase in the begining, all those shotgun shots and neither Murphy or Lewis were hit.

During same chase, guy gets thrown onto their windshield and he either dies or is knocked out.

Guys I know in the military say the same.  But they also commend when things are done correctly and it's not a military film.

Example:

In sucker punch, when the 3 women are doing team things, a tap to the leg is noticed to show that the shooter is ready.  And this isn't a "military" type film where a small detail like that is needed.

But in the end "mom and pop in Oklahoma" wanna see things and be entertained.  This phrase is a saying that it doesn't have to be accurate, as long as it makes for good film as mom n pop don't know the difference.

And the fact that "it's just a movie" so things don't gotta make sense.  But still, hard to not notice.

General Discussion / Representative John Mizuno's home possible break in
« on: December 29, 2025, 08:19:09 AM »
From his FB post:

I am posting this to warn Facebook friends to be extremely careful and protect your family from potential home invasions, because it could happen to you. Attempted Home Invasion: On December 25, 2025 at 1:20 am we heard pounding and saw flashlights shinning through the windows in our house and at that time my cell phone which was on vibrate was going off (this is the caller's cell no. 808-266-0592 - this number is connected to a burner phone). After a couple minutes the intruders, who entered our property by coming through our front gate,  left. We contacted the police who confirmed no HPD unit was sent to our house (address). For the foregoing reasons, I believe this was a targeted home invasion with the criminals targeting me and my family (politics/truth?). I have provided legal information which is relevant to my recent incident. Please note that I am sharing this incident so you may better protect your family from a home invasion.
The Doctrine of Criminal Attempt and Substantial Steps
When a crime is not completed—for instance, if the doors remain locked and the intruders fail to gain entry—the legal analysis shifts to the concept of an "inchoate" or incomplete offense. Hawaii Revised Statutes §705-500 defines criminal attempt, which serves as the mechanism for prosecuting individuals who manifest a "dangerous disposition" through their actions even if the final criminal result is not achieved.
Elements of Attempt under HRS §705-500
An individual is guilty of an attempt if they intentionally engage in conduct that constitutes a "substantial step" in a course of conduct intended to culminate in the commission of a crime. The law specifies that conduct is not a "substantial step" unless it is "strongly corroborative of the defendant's criminal intent".
The commentary on §705-500 provides specific examples of conduct that may constitute a substantial step for crimes like burglary or robbery:
Lying in wait or searching for a contemplated victim.
Reconnoitering the place contemplated for the commission of the crime, commonly referred to as "casing".
Unlawful entry into a structure or enclosure where the crime is intended to occur.
Possession of materials specially designed for unlawful use, such as burglary tools (e.g., crowbars, lock picks, or specialized lighting).
In the context of the 1:20 am incident, the act of "pounding" on a door combined with the use of flashlights and a simultaneous phone call could be argued as a "substantial step" toward either burglary or robbery. If the pounding is interpreted as an attempt to breach the door (attempted forcible entry), it corroborates the intent to commit a crime inside. The rejection of the "impossibility" defense in Hawaii means that even if the door was physically impossible to break, the actors can still be charged with an attempt if their conduct manifested the intent to succeed.
Behavioral and Tactical Analysis of the Nocturnal Intruder
A critical component of determining the nature of the threat is the temporal and behavioral context. The timing of 1:20 am is highly atypical for standard "opportunistic" burglaries, which necessitates a deeper investigation into offender motivations.
Temporal Anomalies: The 1:20 AM Factor
Criminological data and reports from security practitioners indicate a strong preference among burglars for daylight hours. Statistics show the most frequent window for residential break-ins is between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, as this period maximizes the probability of the home being unoccupied while residents are at work or school.
The presence of intruders at 1:20 am suggests that the actors were either indifferent to the presence of occupants or, more concerningly, that the presence of occupants was a necessary component of their objective (e.g., to force the disclosure of a safe combination or the location of keys). This shift from avoidance to confrontation is the primary indicator of a potential "home invasion" or robbery attempt rather than a simple burglary.
The Tactical Utility of Flashlights and Pounding
The use of flashlights in a residential intrusion is a multi-purpose tactic. While the primary function is navigation and identifying points of entry, in a confrontational scenario, high-intensity directional lighting is used to disorient the victim. By shining light into a dark room through a window or peephole, the intruder effectively "blinds" the occupant, making it impossible for the victim to determine the number of suspects, their physical descriptions, or whether they are armed.
Aggressive door pounding—often described as "hammering" or "kicking"—is a psychological tool designed to induce panic. In some instances, this is a tactic used by criminals to impersonate law enforcement, utilizing the authoritative "cop knock" to compel the resident to open the door in a state of confusion. Professional security advice emphasizes that a "forceful, repeated pounding" is a clear signal of potential danger and should be treated as an attempted forced entry.
Multi-Vector Threats: The Synchronized Telephonic Interaction
The most distinctive and strategically significant element of the reported incident is the simultaneous phone call. This indicates a "multi-vector" threat, where physical aggression is paired with a digital or psychological "lure."
Social Engineering and The Digital Lure
Criminal tactics involving phone calls during an intrusion attempt often fall into the category of "social engineering." The goal is to manipulate the victim's behavior to facilitate the crime. The simultaneous nature of the call suggests several possible objectives:
Occupancy Verification: If the resident answers the phone, the intruders at the door immediately confirm that the house is occupied and can gauge the occupant's level of distress or alertness.
Distraction: The ringing phone creates a cognitive split, forcing the resident to choose between securing the door and checking the caller ID. This brief moment of distraction can be exploited to breach a lock or window.
Impersonation and Spoofing: Using caller ID spoofing technology, intruders can make the call appear to come from a legitimate source, such as the Honolulu Police Department, a local utility company, or a neighbor.
The Risk of Spoofing in Honolulu
The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) has issued multiple warnings regarding "phone spoofing" scams where callers conceal their identity to appear as federal agents or local police. In the context of a door-pounding incident, a spoofed call claiming to be "the police" can be a catastrophic tool, leading a victim to open the door to their own intruders under the mistaken belief they are welcoming help.
Spoofed Number Example Intent Victim Action Requested
(808) 529-3111 Impersonate HPD Dispatch "Open the door for responding officers".
(808) 768-0000 Impersonate HPD Officer "We are investigating a report; step outside".
Private/Unknown Direct Intimidation "
The coordination required to sync a phone call with physical pounding strongly suggests a targeted attempt rather than a random opportunistic act. This level of planning is more consistent with the "home invasion" profiles described in professional security literature, where offenders have pre-identified a target and are using a "knock-and-talk" variant to gain entry.
Please review this post and arm yourself with knowledge along with protective measures to protect you and your loved ones from a targeted home invasion.

Off Topic / $20 "bribe" in trial
« on: November 13, 2025, 10:20:58 AM »

IMO, the worker did sort of right by reporting to his supervisor. It should have just been noted and ended there.  Esp if there's a language barrier and "go buy lunch" wasn't stated.

But the guy who has his car stolen and video of the thief and thiefs name doesn't get charged.

Political Discussion / Tommy Robinson is free
« on: November 04, 2025, 07:52:57 PM »
Elon Musk paid all his legal fees.

The judge ruled the police had zero evidence and tommy was targeted for politicial reasons.

He 1st reported on illegal migrants back during trumps 1st term when they were pouring into the UK and trump said thats a bad idea.

He was told to stop reporting on the crimes said illegals were committing. He refused and was jailed. There is no free press in the UK.

This time he was stopped and the police wanted the pin to his phone. He refused as he has confidential journalism stuff on it. They jailed him as a terrorist.

General Discussion / CA is expanding red flag laws
« on: October 31, 2025, 11:25:01 AM »
https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/immigration/border-coverage/feds-intercept-300-high-caliber-guns-headed-to-mexico/

Now the district attorney can request a red flag to someone.  Before it was either an particular individual or the police.

This is a pilot program in certain counties.

Like I said in the red flag thread and in others, the first red flag laws were just a stepping stone.  It will be expanded, which is why it's important to get rid of them now and not wait.

Lets see what HI does.

The 2 admitted do doing this on 12 other occasions.

I'd be curious to how many were reported stolen. And how many still had a serial number on them.

It would be unwise for the cartels to leave a serial number on them.

Political Discussion / Trump to begin nuke testing
« on: October 30, 2025, 08:30:57 AM »
Liberals are fuming at this.

We may never know the why.  But lets think of some posibilities:

1) Testing new stuff. Could be bigger or weaker, different tech, etc....  Or OG like Hiroshima that left little radiation on the land.  So the land isn't unlivable for 100 years like todays nukes.

2) Does the old stuff still work

3) If u gonna use a nuke and mess up the land it's being detonated on, then might as well put other stuff with it that you gotta get rid of. Like other aging nukes, nuclear waste, etc...Cheaper than storing it in the mountain.

In general, I'm against this, unless there's a very good reason. A show of force isn't a good reason as everyone knows what we got.  So above is what I would be OK with so far.

Political Discussion / What's Happening???
« on: September 17, 2025, 02:56:34 PM »
With Charlie Kirk being executed, many who celebrated have either been fired from their job, suspended pending investigation, etc...And many didn't do so while at work or in a work uniform, etc...

Jimmy Kimmel constantly promoted fake news about Russia Hoax, Ukraine Hoax, etc...and has never been repremanded.  But saying the shooter is MAGA got him in deep trouble.

So far, 2 colleges expelled students for their response celebrating Kirks execution.  1 vid that I saw, the guy was non-violent, as in he never touched anyone or destroyed property.  I didn't watch the other one of the female.

Office Max employee fired for not printing a Kirk vigil posters.

When people were being assaulted, their property damaged, denied entry, forced to hide, colleges did little.  Kirk was assault and his property stolen/damaged on video too.

Is it that the DOJ is now not letting people get away with things?  So employers/colleges are being more strict?  When people were being assaulted, their property damaged, denied entry, forced to hide, colleges did little.

And what's even more interesting is that no one is citing the 1A.  I know it doesn't apply to private entities, but you know how liberals are and will claim their 1A is being violated.

General Discussion / Ex-Chief Logan Suing the city and Mayor
« on: August 05, 2025, 03:54:39 PM »
https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2025/08/05/newly-released-demand-letter-former-police-chief-seeks-784k-citing-retaliation-emotional-distress/?fbclid=IwY2xjawL_km9leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETFibDkxdmpSb2ZjQ1ZyRmVFAR4JDE5m8aHkbNgPrZUMtZJXQI2KLfguNLdZukcfrXlTh_5eL9H0HueSGGbWzQ_aem_MfSIMlILJV2GxB_bYBbvug

Basically, Mayor Rick wanted to give HPD radio access to the media.  But often private information is given over these devices like social security numbers and date of birth.  It's also a federal violation.

Rick also wanted Joe to get rid of homeless in Chinatown and Waikiki and Logan said he cannot as a 9th Circuit ruling said they also had to provide an alternative place for them.

He's seeking $500K in loss wages plus $250K for lawyer fees, so $750K or so.  All due to whistleblower retaliation and that the mayor threatened him and his family.

Unrelated to this:

Logan years ago stated during city and county hearing of sensitive places that the ordinance would be difficult to enforce.  He was asked by Tupola what "appurtenant" means and he stated that didn't know.  This is understandable as it's not a commonly used word.  The reason why she was asking is some CCW bans also bans appurtenant places of specific places.  But at no time did Logan state that such ordinance was unconstitutional and that HPD wont' enforce it.

During 1 of the hearings, 1 officer decided to approach a testifier who was carrying a rifle case.  There is no probable cause to searching this individual or detain them.  Logan approached and ended it and the individual was free to go.

Logan also had an interaction with a person who was holstering an object inside a sock.  So the object wasn't visible, but it fit inside a holster.  At no time did Logan ask about it or search the individual.

During other state anti 2a  hearings, HPD didn't submit any testimony.  Like the most recent semi auto rifle, rifle mag, and semi auto shotgun ban.  Where prior, they have submitted to support such bans.

So I'm not a fan of Logan as he never stepped up and said he won't enforce unconstitutional laws, but he is better than Ballard or Kealoha.

Funny how HI people call out Trump for acting like a dictator/bully, but silent on Rick.  Lets not forget when Rick was eating dinner and violating covid rules.  Then when called out on camera as he was walking back to his car, he wanted to fight the cameraman.

Political Discussion / ICE doing their job
« on: July 09, 2025, 11:24:03 AM »
Been seeing lots of before and after pics/vids of places that were once full of people and are now empty due to the fear of ICE coming to arrest illegals.

This shows how for decades they have been allowed to stay in the US.  Same goes with businesses complaining that they don't have workers anymore.

1 place that we wanted to check out in Vegas is Broadacers Market, which is a Mexican swapmeet type place.  They've been shut down for 3 weeks now in fear of ICE raids.

If you're here legally then you have little to worry about.  Or if you're here as a guest and commit no serious crimes, you have nothing to worry about.  Those with crimes should have been deported.

My friend wanted to go to Tahiti to visit his parents, but was denied because he had a DUI here.  Then many years ago on the MTV show Jersey Shore, 2 of the cast was denied entry to Italy due to their DUI's.  The production had to get special approval so they can be let in and the filming can happen in Italy.

I know a guy who's a permanent legal resident and his status says that he cannot try to overthrow the government. Which is why he cannot join a militia as it could be seen that way.  I bring this up because the 2A mentions militia.

Legal and Activism / Keaolha vs Hawaii County
« on: July 09, 2025, 08:34:37 AM »
Guy was given permission to shoot wild boar on his friends property. A neighbor heard gunshots and called cops.  Cops came and left without arrest or citation issued.

Guy wants to buy a new gun and applied for a permit to acquire and was denied because of this.  He was also told he has to turn in all his guns.

He has not been charged with a crime, so no court date.

Attorney's Alan Beck and Kevin O'Grady are representing him.

Preparedness and Survival / Freeze dried food
« on: June 24, 2025, 04:55:36 PM »

Recap if you can't watch.

1 man living off of prep food for 30 days.

He spent 30 days on his prep food.  Mainly the freeze dried stuff that you buy at Sams/Costco.  He had a few MRE's and some Mountain House.

Like the Ready Wise Sams Club sells, the brand he used also gave him the shits.  He had the shits for 30 days bacially.

The 30 day supply food was in batches and not individual servings, so he had to cook all at once. I mean, he could have used math to portion it out when cooking.

He used 11 gallons of water to cook all his food.

5 gals to do dishes which is important for hygene

15 gals of drinking water.

Like all prep type food like this, it's high in sodium.  The 30 day stuff got boring fast.  He liked the MRE"s as it also came with extra stuff and this helped his mood greatly.

He noted his vices like coffee and nicotine helped elevate his mood and was important.

He lost 8lbs.

Lesson Learned:

Canned goods like spam and instant noodles helps.

The 30 day stuff sucks cause it's mainly carbs and salt.  You can easily keep a bag of rice and put shoyu on top and it would be the same IMO. And it goes good with spam/vienna sausage which a lot of HI people already have in their cabinets.  So save your $ and just keep a 20lb bag rice and rotate it as it gets closer to expiration.

The water usage was interesting.

Pack immodium AD or like pills cause the shits can drain you.

MRE's usually have the opposite affect of the runs. U usually get stuck shit when eating all the time.

Coffee or other vices you have is also important to pack to keep you happy.  Instant coffee is the best as you don't have to boil water.

Their sign is gone and the place is "boarded up".

This means any firearm qualifications for private instruction in town would have to be done at KHSC and CCW's wait until organizations operate the bay area.
