Will Democrat History Repeat Itself?

You may recall, HI has 4 electoral votes.  Not enough to really make a difference in any election, but enough to send a message when the state wants to.

In 2016, Hillary became the Democrat Presidential candidate running against Trump.

He won, and not one of HI's electoral votes went to him.  However, Hillary did not receive all 4 votes either.  One vote was cast for Bernie Sanders, and another elector stated she would have done likewise if she'd known she could do that.

What this illustrates is that HI was less than pleased at the way the Dem party screwed Bernie out of the nomination in order to install their preferred candidate.

Well, here we are again.  Harris has been selected by the party, and not a single voter in the primaries had an opportunity to vote for her nor anyone else.  Looking at the HI Primary ballot I just received last week, there are zero candidates available to choose from for the Presidential race.  Trump is already the nominee, so there's no question of having a Republican Presidential Primary.  But the DNC has yet to officially nominate anyone.  Biden was "unopposed' since the party pushed out RFK and forced him to run Independent.  So, there's no Democrat Presidential Primary choice either.

Now that Harris replaced Biden, and due to the lateness of the switch, there's no opportunity for her to be opposed.  She just waltzed into the nomination -- because that's how the party wanted it all along.  It would have been truly embarrassing for her and the party is a sitting 1-term VP were to lose the primary to someone else.

I hope the electors are taking note of how Harris is being once again shoved down their throats just like Hillary.

No predictions, but I hope someone speaks up via the electoral process.

BTW, the HI Primary date is August 10, 2024.

If you haven't seen it yet, here's the "sample" ballot:

No.

Anyway, Lauren still walks the neighborhoods and talk with people.  I always seem to miss her when she's in my part of the hood.

She hangs her brochures on my doorknob and writes "Sorry we missed each other".

What's her stance on the 2a?

What's her stance on the 2a?

I read through her responses to the past few question/answer articles from Civil Beat and Star-Advertiser going back awhile.

Either 2A is not a priority the media wishes to inquire into, or she skipped those questions.

I did see where she is asked about her view on the Thirty-Meter Telescope.  Her "politician's" answer was "I welcome more discussion."  Didn't want to commit to one side or the other.

That might be the same thing she does for 2A -- non-answers tend to alientte the fewest voters.

No evidence that's what she'd do -- just putting this here for your enjoyment.

Yeah, if I ever get to meet her I was planning on asking what her stance is on 2a.

I don't have my hopes up, though.  Like Flapp mentioned I wouldn't be surprised she says I welcome further discussion.
