Idk what the hold ups are exactly. I ain't got no stroke here. Only a contact with intel. So I'm just reloading my fireball ammo in the meantime. What else can I do but reload and meditate 🧘‍♂️ 🙏

Just saw this on Facebook:

Quote
Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation

We proud to announce the metallic silhouette range at the Koko Head Shooting Complex will reopen for public use beginning Saturday, November 1, 2025.

This range will be available on Saturdays and Sundays, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., on a first-come-first-served basis. This unique section of the shooting complex offers metal targets at 50 meters and is operated by the Hawai‘i Metallic Silhouette Shooters Association (HMSSA). No online reservation is required, but a $5 fee per shooter will be assessed by HMSSA for anyone discharging firearms at this range. Common handgun calibers may be used at this range (such as .22, .380, 9mm, .40, and .45), but only .22 rimfire rifle rounds may be discharged. Other exclusions apply, so please consult the range safety officer for more details.

The opening of the metallic silhouette range represents the final range to be reopened at the Koko Head Shooting Complex since its initial closure in September 2022. During the closure, the City hired a national outdoor shooting range expert and utilized a variety of in-house and contracted crews to: enhance the operations, maintenance, & cleaning protocols of the range, train employees in best practices for lead awareness, and complete a variety of range improvements including berm reinforcement and renovated shooting amenities.

The Koko Head Shooting Complex is O‘ahu’s only public outdoor shooting range, and we greatly appreciate the patience of the firearms community while the complex’s ranges were closed. Please visit the KHSC official website for additional information about the complex and its operations: bit.ly/kokoheadrange

It says common handgun calibers.

Wonder if revolver magnums and stuff like 10mm are allowed.

10mm is just one more mm than a 9mm

the 44mag is a smaller diameter than a 45

all joking aside, I think magnums and 10mmm should be good to go bc they had to get all AR500 steel

I think I understand what the press release is trying to say, but it could have been worded better.

The Koko Head Shooting Complex info is much clearer. Scroll down to the "Metallic Silhouette Range" header/section:

-You may fire .22 rimfire rifles on this range
-Common pistol cartridges are allowed, including: .22 LR, .380 Auto, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP.  Restrictions apply, so please see the range security officer for approved allowable cartridges.
-Centerfire rifles and shotguns prohibited.

About 10 guys waiting at 7:30 am; by 10:30 there were only 2-3 still shooting.  The small targets on the ground weren't there--the club guys said they haven't gotten official approval yet.
I burned through 300+ rounds in the first hour.

357, 44 magnums along with other pistol calibers allowed.  11am and it's about half full.

The previous email picture says 10 round limit. It's kinda hard to read.
