Was at YG this afternoon and they just received a couple cases of H4895, H380 and a couple of others.  No Varget or pistol powders that I saw.  Delivery was still in unopened boxes on the floor.

BTW, I picked up a pound of CFE pistol to try out.  Anyone use this stuff yet?

Thanks for letting us all know. I have never used H380 myself. But H4895 is one powder I have quite a bit of. And for good reason. Not only is H4895 capable of being used in almost every rifle caliber, but almost every major reloading manual has recipes for it in almost every caliber. Okay, that might be a bit of an exaggeration but it is not far off. It may not be the best powder for every application but it has a burn rate that is capable for use in a lot of calibers. Plus it has the added advantage of being used in reduced loads per Hodgdon's white paper available on their website. And it works great with lead bullets. So if you have some old military rifles like I do, shooting lead with reduced loads makes shooting them an economical pleasure. If you are new to reloading or are looking for a single rifle powder that can be used in most or all of your rifles then H4895 is a good one.

I just bought a pound of CFE Pistol and loaded some 38 Specials to run through my S&W Performance Center 627. The reason I did this is due to the fact the inside of my barrel has a slight copper tint to it. When I clean it, it is quite noticeable in the grooves. I have not found any cleaning products that gets rid of it completely. I have not fired them yet but I hope it works as advertised. If it does then I might just fire 5 or 10 rounds right before I leave the range just to remove the copper fouling.

I loaded some 45's using the Data off of the hodgdon website...it's a lot of kick, even from their lowest recommended load... Not for me...so i'll just use it in some 9mm for later...unless someone wants to trade for something else?
