I noticed there wasn't any fire sales on ammo.  Amrscor is usualy the cheapest 223 that I found.  $300 a case (1000)

I never had good experiences with Armscor ammo. It's cheap.

There was a fellow selling Wolf Gold 223 for $6 for 20. He got cleaned out within the first couple hours. He had 12 gauge slugs for cheap (relatively) as well. I forget what else he had.

I’ve shot up at least 500 of the Wolf Gold and it’s been sufficiently accurate and always gone bang.

Also I believe it was SEC was selling Mini Mags 22LR for $6 for 100.

I shot .22 and their 223. The accuracy was not good.
I also reloaded Armscor 223 BULLETs and they sucked too.

Armscor - we used their .22LR last weekend at the Boy Scout camp and it was meh at best. Had several failure to fires with multiple strikes. And accuracy is a negligible thing when dealing with inexperienced shooters like 12-15 year old boys and girls.

If it was last on the shelf I'd buy it, but there are many other better brands and types for the same price.

Regarding ammo deals, as mentioned, just gotta go early and see what the vendors are offering.  I usually hit up SEC and Young Guns for ammo.  Usually looking for 9 mm or 5.56/.223.  Used to have more consistent sales before, but still can find good deals.  But also gotta be prepared to carry the ammo.   :(  I learned that carrying a couple of cases of ammo in a backpack isn't a good idea.

Regarding Armscor, I also have had meh impression of their ammo.  I was going to buy up a bunch a few gun shows ago, but heard of problems.  Then I experienced what seemed like inconsistent loading as well as a number of problems with function.  While the problems with function can be the gun/mags, these guns ran fine on what I considered crappy ammo.

I'd recommend checking ads from SEC, Young Guns and OGC during the week before the show. They often have specials, especially OGC since they don't participate in the show.

Wow seems like some had issues with Armscor.  I run both the 9mm and 223 for HDF classes and never had any issues.  These classes involve shooting from prone, kneeling, standing, and on the move so accuracy would be hard to tell (tac driver).  But I can say that I get consistent groupings with the 223.  The 9 is harder to tell.  Probably the Indian and not the arrow.  Sometimes I want to look at the pistol with the WTF look when not getting pings on steel.

The 1 gripe I do have with the Armscor 9mm is that the rounds are placed in the plastic holder head side up.  So I can't use my ETS fast mag loader that my friend gave me.
