One more thought.

Your call sign will be public knowledge.  It's searchable online and your address WILL show.  It's a good idea to use a PO Box as your address if you want more privacy (being on a 2a site and all).

Also try qrz.com and their tests at http://qrz.com/hamtest/

Got my General a few years ago.  They changed a few questions starting in 2012 or 2013 so if you get a study guide, make sure it is the newest version.  I haven't been active lately.  I got a used handheld and a diamond antenna for about $120 on ebay so it's not a lot of money to get started.

Lots of info on Ron Hashiro's site on Hawaii emergency communications.  http://www.qsl.net/ah6rh/am-radio/in-hawaii.html

Good luck!

Wanted to thank the NRA instructors today.  Most didn't get to take a break and ate their hotdogs between shooters.  Mahalo and  hats off to you all.

For chickens, you can feed them fruit scraps and if they free range, they can supplement their diet.  Before garbage disposals and weekly trash pick up, hogs did those chores of consuming old fruits and scraps.  Animal waste gets composted and put back into the fields.  So goes the circle.  At least from what I learned....I am far from putting it into practice.

2 acres.  I wonder how much rice paddy is needed to feed a family of 4.

I have to say, that was the most people and the most tables I've seen at a Hawaii gun show.  Picked up a couple slings and a tacticute patch from Mojo Tactical.

There was a small mention of Baker vs. Kealoha in the March 2013 issue of American Rifleman, page 18.

Quote
Also heard before the Ninth Circuit were arguments in Baker v. Kealoha, a non-NRA case that challenges Hawaii's near-complete ban on the issuance of concealed carry permits.  Hawaii's statute says that a concealed carry permit shall be issued only "in exceptional case" or "where urgency or need has been sufficiently indicated," and gives police chiefs arbitrary power to decide whose case is "exceptional." (In practice, no permits are ever issued, a fact that the government's attorney carefully dodged during the argument.)

Just reviewed the testimony.  Overwhelmingly opposed with 2 in support.  1 of the 2 in support, I think, made a mistake because his testimony was against the bill.
