Hello all. Just another enthusiast born and raised here, but have mostly strict anti-gun friends and family. Figured it would be a nice change of pace to converse with like-minded people and maybe learn from those with more experience shooting and tinkering. Still relatively new, only starting shooting in 2018. I don't really have a favorite brand. One of my favorite things to quote is "I'm a gun fanboy, I love 'em all." But as my collection is still limited, I only have experience with a couple calibers and a few types, makes, models. Looking to expand the collection but still researching calibers and platforms. Have a good one.
Strategies and Tactics / Re: 36yard zero

Very important to get the correct height over bore, distance between your sights and middle of the barrel.  For the calculation.   Makes a big difference when zeroing at reduced ranges.

height over bore is not a huge deal when dealing with intermittent ranges. I do precision long range shooting. @ 1000y a ~2" difference in HOB is 0.4 mils (14") at 1000 yards!

with M855 ~2.4" iron sites compared to ~3.26" High mount, difference is 0.4" at 300yds with a 33m/36yd zero

Just saying, if you are concentrating at minute of man, HOB is negligible. Ding is a Ding

Competition / 3 Gun type ranges?

Are there any ranges on Oahu with open bays where you can do tactical shoot/move or 3-gun type shooting?

Hello Everyone  :shaka:,

New guy here. Not in Hawaii yet, currently living in Nevada and wife is from Honolulu. Currently trying to transfer to Hawaii. I know HI gun laws are just as strict or more strict than California (my home state). I have a few firearms. I've read the HPD gun laws and transfer stuff however some of it is confusing. I have one SBR and I know those are illegal by name as well as AR/AK pistols. I'm confused on magazine capacity and magazine "rebuild" kits. I've tried to call some local gun shops and no one wants to explain anything. I was wondering if someone can give me the down and dirty on someone from the mainland on bringing their firearms to Oahu.
