Georgia Senate showdown
« on: November 21, 2020, 03:09:47 PM »
As we all know Georgia and its 2 senate seats are up for special election.  Democrats need to win both to take the senate.

This brings me to this article.
https://www.newsweek.com/georgia-trump-supporters-destroy-gop-boycott-senate-runoffs-1549245

RIP 2a....if this is true.    Qanon has done alot of stupid shit before but this takes the cake.  We might be screwed.    :wtf:

An unnamed, pro-Trump "protestor" claims "we" are going to "destroy" the GOP if ..... they don't do something undefined to ...... "stop the steal?"

Sounds like an ANTIFA dumbass got on camera to spout off stupid crap that's eerily similar to the same rhetoric ANTIFA and BLM use.

Unless the 2 or 3 people are proven to be Trump supporters, and the people on Social Media proven to not have "jumped the shark", this is just more media propaganda crafted to demoralize and deflate the optimism of actual Trump supporters.

The article posted is lacking in details on the people being interviewed.

Some random person saying vague things threatens ambiguous consequences against the GOP.

Meh.

Pop quiz, Hot Shot!

Without using ANY Internet or WWW resources, answer this pop culture question:

What does "jump the shark," mean, and when/how did it become a saying?

No lifelines!  No phoning a friend, no 50/50 (essay questions don't have that), and no polling the audience (friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, stray dog, imaginary friends, ...).

If you know this, it should take only one or two sentences.

READY?

GO!!

We are watching a populist revolution of the GOP, which has been infested by swamp monsters for generations now. If this goes well I might sign up.

Yep.  The people trying to constantly associate the GOP with Trump, and vice versa, are ignoring the whole reason Trump was elected.

We're tired of the status quo FROM BOTH PARTIES.  It took 2 years for the DC GOP to mostly support Trump, and a good many still support the swamp over him.

When you rock the boat, EVERYBODY who was happy with their ride wants it to stop.  Party is irrelevant.

Independents think everyone else will eventually drown each other.  They think they can then just waltz in and take over the boat as captain.

In good times they are "independents", but in bad times they are known as sectarians and secessionists.

This is just my opinion,  but there are Democrats that can never be
convinced that they are idiots. the same can be said for some Republicans.
So all our elections are aimed at the people that can't make
up their mind.
Our government is decided by the weakest willed people.

For the 50th time, you keep saying this, but the FACT IS "Independent" candidates rarely win locally, and will probably never win the Presidency ever.

Bernie Sanders is a SOCIALIST who identifies in Congress as an Independent (I).  He caucuses with the Democrats (Socialists of a feather...), and he had to sign an agreement that, if he won the Democrat nomination for the presidential race, he would have to switch his party affiliation to Democrat (D).

So, you keep saying you're voting for whoever you want.  You can do that even if you register (D) or (R).  Failing to commit doesn't make you any more Independent than me or others in this state.  Dems can vote for Trump, and Reps can vote for Biden.  All you're really doing is fixing it so you can't vote in the primaries.

Independent?  More like "scared of making a poor choice."

Sounds like someone boxed in to a party.  There will never be change if everyone keeps your mindset.  I've voted democrat, republican, libertarians, independents.  Yes you can pick a party,  then vote outside of it, but that's a sign of endorsing a party.

Boxed in?  Are you that ignorant?

If you think I voted for John McCain or Bob Dole, think again.

I'm just not terrified of what other people would think if they found out I'm registered for a specific party.

I find that most Independents I've encountered are really former Democrats who can't stand the party any more, but have been so brainwashed to hate Republicans they can't  bring themselves to join the GOP.  Hence, they pretend to be on the fence and claim "I'm Independent", like that's better than having an actual party preference.

There is no "Independent Party".  You're no different than claiming "Unaffiliated."  You just convinced yourself that "Independent" sounds cooler.   8)

Because you say so?

Voters don't "endorse" candidates or parties.  You either SUPPORT them with your vote, volunteer work, and donations, or you don't.  There's no such thing as someone like me "endorsing a party!"

Affiliation means you want to participate in that party's primaries -- nothing more.  Lots of Democrats have tried switching party affiliation to mess up Republican primaries by voting for the worst of the candidates, believing they can somehow make the general election easier for the Democrat primary winner.  So, are THOSE DEMOCRATS "endorsing" the GOP?

Picking a side is endorsement, regardless of malicious or any specific intent....In polls you are now on one side of the party line and treated statistically as that.
