Preparedness and Survival / Water Storage for Evacuation
« on: June 17, 2019, 08:10:25 PM »
So I have my other preps in order including the hurricane shelter bags.  The question is how do other people plan to move water in case they have to evacuate? Planning for 3 days of water per person (3 gallons x 3 = 9 gallons; 9 x 8lbs = 72 lbs). That is a lot of weight to schlepp.  What are others doing with this prep?

Reloading / Love this Deprimer
« on: March 01, 2018, 06:14:55 PM »
Ok. So here's the deal. I bought a set of National Match Reloading dies and started to finally process the 6 years of brass I have been collecting. 30 casings in I found out I left a military casing in the lot and bent the deprimer rod into a a perfect u-shape. (Not kidding).

So I decided this sucked and bought a Frankford Arsenal Hand Deprimer. I love this thing. So easy to pop out spent primers from 308, 30-06, and 5.56. What do y'all use?

Woke up this morning to the alert of a ballistic missile inbound.  No sirens, or other internet traffic on the issue.  Did you jump into action or wait and see?

The trouble is false alarms like this only undermine the effectiveness of the alert system when an actual emergency happens.

With H38 likely to pass this week what do you all think about it?  Several major guntubers have raised the alarm it will be combined with an onerous bill that will act as a covert gun grab by disqualifying people from ownership. The NRA is still supporting this legislation while GOA is taken an opposed stance, even if it means loosing national reciprocity.
I am curious what you all think.

Preparedness and Survival / Torrential Downpours Flood Out Streets
« on: September 03, 2015, 12:58:06 PM »
Was driving back to the office today in the latest downpour.  It occurred to me how quickly the streets became flooded.  Given a longer sustained rain, roads would quickly become impassible.  What do you have in your car in case the roads become impassible?
