General Discussion / Best scope for a 7mm or 30'06
« on: November 20, 2021, 10:48:15 AM »
Need a scope for a 7mm Mag and 30'06.
I'll never use the two at the same time so I'll swap.
I'm a cheap guy.
In Hawaii most targets will be two legged( JUST MESSING WITH YOU!), on the mainland mostly 4 legged.
Thoughts?

I remember the rules of three.
Three minutes without air you may die.
Three hours without shelter you may perish
Three days without water you may die.
Three weeks without food you may perish.

I know most all you cannot do this, but don't spend any money
for three weeks and see what happens.
I can easily go for six months
Can you?

Any day or any way you can get rid of a Democrat is a good thing.

Political Discussion / Re: Not guilty.
« on: November 19, 2021, 12:40:51 PM »
My friends a lawyer, said his favorite juror are retirees. They take the time to listen and look into the details.  Cause they no need work or worry about missing work and not getting paid. The downside is the limited experience on modern tech. So when COD was brought up. I highly doubt a 60 year old lady knows what that is.  Even explained is hard, need to actually show game footage and why people play.  Even then, she might not understand the why.
Pretty broad brush you paint with.
I get pissed at every jury summons I get.
I'm retired.
My BIL is a cop.
I'm an engineer.
I hate drug laws.
I don't believe anything the government says.
I hate Lawyers.
I hate Democrats.

Why the fuck are you wasting my time?
Since you will never seat me on a jury!
Plus I'm pissed that my taxes paid for this BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course I would be a very impassionate Juror, but that is not what lawyers want.
Truth is not in their dictionary.

That’s what I said on Tuesday on the other thread.  No way he could be found guilty.
Never underestimate the stupidity of someone that can't avoid jury duty.

Some of us still remember the Termite Palace.

Sucks being a State with no legitimate stadium though.
That brings this to mind;
"Are not you entertained?"  "Is this not why you are here?"

Don't get me wrong I have and still suffer scars from sports.
But public funded non-school stadiums rub me wrong.
it reeks too much of Rome, Berlin, and Pagan rituals.

I have the perfect solution!
Build a wall, and strictly control ingress and egress to South Point on the Big Island.
then develop a Las Vegas there,
casinos, hotels, airport, stadiums, et al.
All run for the benefit of ALL citizens of Hawaii.
Isolated, controlled, Earth friendly, the perfect Democrat society.

95% or more of the time, it is a bad idea to get involved in a 3rd party altercation,  unless someone was in imminent danger of getting killed or seriously hurt AND you are in  a position to help. Like if you came across 7 guys gang raping a girl and the only weapon you have ia a 4 inch tactical folder.  In such a case, run and get help.
Stick the Tactical folder in some's back as you run for help.
I never fight fair.

Elderts thought he was BJ Penn.

Isn’t that Clint’s son as the white kid in that scene ?
Good movie.
Would have ended way different if the Cop knew he was in a "Shall issue" state
as opposed to one where the Honest people are disarmed.
I like polite and slightly afraid cops, as opposed to belligerent
overlords free from any restraints.
Union will always get you your pension.
and pay for all law-suits.

Political Discussion / Re: Bayer exec: mRNA shots are actually gene therapy
« on: November 17, 2021, 09:29:18 AM »
I've been rolling the dice on all this since the beginning.
Politically; I say dose up all the Democrats and any other government trusting homonids,
then study them for effects.

Mathematically; my Hypothesis is the government lies and you never reverse a
hypothesis until you have hard proof that a greater than 50% chance it it wrong.

Science;  Science is never "settled" it is a never ending quest.  We don't know what
we don't know until we look.

When we are able to turn a baby with all the genetic material to be nearly 100% brown eyed into a person with
green eyes with more than 50% certainty and with no side effects, then I will trust Gene therapy.
We will also eliminate all Homosexuals at that point. as we would have identified the "Gay" gene /s.
See where this all goes?

One thing missing here is the Hawaiian sense of self preservation.
I used to live in a place where a good percentage of people concealed carried.
Only a very stupid person ever escalated an aggression when the other
person backed down and did not act afraid.
You were about to die if you pushed it further and
you KNEW that!

So some drunk Braddah beats me up bad.
I'm all fucked up for the rest of my life and he is in jail for a bit.
How would it end if I'm OK, and his arrogant, aggressive brains are spread all over the wall?
What is the better end?  Two lives ruined or just one?
Plus the sure knowledge that acts of Bravado and aggression in public won't end well
for the arrogant ass?  An armed society is a polite one.

Political Discussion / Re: wow- tulsi to run for president as an R!?!
« on: November 15, 2021, 01:01:10 PM »
The USA had really been "wrapped around the axle" when a anti-gun Tulsi seems like a good Republican
presidential candidate.  Let her beat Hirono like a dead horse, Tulsi could probably have that job for life.

As for a good choice for a Republican candidate,  I'll vote for the first guy that will rescind every Executive
order that has ever been written, on day one of Presidency,  Fire every previously appointed person on day two.
and day three order the GSA to terminate all services contracts with any government facility except those
to related to Defense, Prisons, border enforcement , transportation, and National parks.

Then take a tour of  wherever for a week or two with NO news people.

Then get to work.

Stupid fucking bitch!  The entire Democrat party is responsibly for this problem.  They cut the supply of fossil fuels, by EO's
Let's go Brandon!
One thing I liked about Oregon along with the cheapest prices is the pumps have a break down
of the taxes per gallon,  and who they go to on every pump.
That is a real eye OPENER!
I fortunately do not commute to work any more.
But a single trip to a Lowes cost me $28 yesterday and prior to Obama that trip was under $10.
I wonder if anybody's wages have increased over 100% in the last 20 or so years?  Had they stayed in their same jobs?
Don't think so.

When you are at the starting level of your career (less than 5 years of experience), your salary is at the low end of the spectrum.

When you have 10, 20 or more years experience, your salary is commensurate with your years in that field.

It's much easier to find a $50K-$75K  job to replace your current income is much easier than trying to find a job you can walk into a replace a $150K+ salary plus benefits.
Perhaps I've been blessed or I made good Job choices, but as an Adult after military service, most all my jobs stared at the higher end of salary.  So I had choices.
One thing an employer cannot demand is any conformance that violates your privacy and is not illegal.
You can demand, I don't use illegal drugs, but you cannot demand I use experimental ones.
You can demand, I don't write letters to the Editor that reflect poorly on the business, but you cannot dictate how I vote.
You can demand, I don't descriminate against people in the work environment, but you cannot demand I serve or interact with people that
offend me  when on my personal time, in my business,  or during my "pursuit of Happiness" in life.

Political Discussion / Re: more EVs!
« on: November 13, 2021, 12:06:20 PM »
EVs can now use the HOV lane with only a single person inside.

Too bad Hi took away the free airport and street parking.

Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
Just got back from WA state, you can also use the HOV if you pay the posted toll price
It varies with traffic conditions.  And as near as I can tell speed limits aren't enforced.
That speed limit exception seems to apply in OR, CA, NV, and ID also.

Doing Hawaii 55 MPH will really suck after three weeks at up to 80+ MPH travel.
My rental car averaged 29 MPG at those speeds.
That equals or exceeds what an EV gets end to end
energy cost wise,
and my fill-ups lasted less than 5 minutes.

EVs are for city folk that can get government to subsidize their toys.

king county just started a program where security walks people to the car/bus/ferry due to all the homeless in downtown seattle...
They walk GOVERNMENT employees not regular people.

I had a conceal carry permit for years in WA state. I worked and was University educated in Seattle.
I had to rescue my heroin addict cousin from many bad situations in Seattle.
So I know a thing or two about homeless, druggies on the streets.

I agree with most here that there isn't a good thing that the Government hasn't or can't screw up.

My solution is pretty simple and probably leagal.
move all services, food, medical, housing, et al for the homeless to
rural, isolated areas.  In Hawaii for example reserve Kahoʻolawe for them.
For WA state Waldron Island, you get the picture.
Not a prison per se as they can leave any time they want,  just keep all services there and there alone.
Kind of like a compassionate Lepers colony.
Government will screw it up, but it won't be in our immediate back yards.
