Nice.
I'm just a sucker for a 1911 with adjustable sights and a checkered front strap.

Yeah, me too.

Different ammo brand or different handloads don't shoot to the same POI

This belongs to a coworker. It was less than 600.
Made in the Philippines. Looks nice but i wouldn't buy one.
Has some minor problem, probably magazine-related.

Bought both Les Baer 1911s from 1911 Heaven with the "1.5 inch guarantee at 50 yards" and sent them off to Rob Schauland of Alchemy Custom for upgrades.

Rob Schauland worked for Les Baer Custom until he opened Alchemy Custom.
(Rob can be seen in the old Les Baer commercials on The Outdoor Channel/Shooting USA.  He's the guy with the orange shirt checking the slide/frame fitting, racking the slide...)

Recently both Rob Schauland and Alchemy Custom became part of Cabot Gun Company.

Les Baer Premier II Upgrades:
Ed Brown magwell
Serrated rear of slide 40LPI
Flattened and serrated top of slide 30LPI
Wilson Combat Bulletproof mag release catch
Flush cut slide stop and bevel
Harrison true radius sear
Polished feed ramp and tuned extractor
Full tune and polish package
Trigger 3 lb.

Presentation Grade Charcoal bluing

Top/Bottom:  45acp/9mm

Hi Lou !

You have so many many pistols, revolvers, etc. etc. etc.

You have my Les Baer Ultimate Master 45 with Alchemy Custom's trigger job.
Will email you the invoice.

The pistol you have came with the "1.5 inch guarantee at 50 yards" also.

Wilson Combat 1911:    Classic Supergrade (45acp)
                                                and
                                         Classic (9mm)

Got them from George Talia of www.migunslingers.com
I was able to choose all the custom features and parts on these pistols, and George placed
the orders into Wilson Combat for me.

Both SS frame with high-polish Baron bluing on slide
Both serrated top of slide 30LPI with gold bead front sight
Both flush cut, reverse crown muzzle
Both recessed slide stop notch
Both 2.75 lb. triggers    (WC required a signed Waiver of Liability form)

Supergrade: carry cuts and ball-endmill cuts on slide
Supergrade: checkered rear of slide 40LPI

Classic: front serrations on slide (standard)
Classic: serrated rear of slide 40LPI

All Bullet Proof parts: thumb safety, grip safety, magwell, mag release

Update:  After a few years the Supergrade's slide is now a "plum" or "burgundy" color.
While it is considered a bluing defect, I like the color.

Classic 9mm:    4 months wait time
Supergrade 45acp:    2years 10months wait time

got this holster from Simply Rugged
simple holster. I got it just bc it was on sale. I would order a more fancy one if we had carry here but since we live Hawaii and cannot carry theres no sense to get a real expensive one. but just for home carry its good
Leather is super nice. looks like its conditioned really well. the look and feel of it is much better than others I've handled. not like i'm an expert, but the leather feels really nice and its a great fit for the 1911

A friend once told me every shooter should have a Glock, Sig, and a 1911.  So I bit the literal bullet and picked up a Springfield, and I gotta say, I wish I'd made the switch sooner.  I'll do a review down the road, probably closer to 3K rounds.  I have almost 900 on it since I picked it up in the beginning of the year.

I heard similar.

A Glock, because it's the one you want in a pinch.

A Sig, because it's the one you can shoot better than a Glock.

A 1911, because you need to learn to operate one, and the ergonomics are the "standard" against which all other handguns are compared.

If not a 1911 right away, at least a Ruger 22/45 target pistol.  The "45" in the model number means the grip angle and feel are very close to a 1911 .45.  Helps teach muscle memory for when you get a 1911.

https://www.springfield-armory.com/1911-series-handguns/1911-ro-elite-handguns/

spingfield website only shows 10mm option for the Elite Operators model.  they don't make the other models anymore?  like 45, 9mm, target, etc?

This was the model one step up in grade.  They offered a green finish along with the checkering on the front strap.  I was thinking about picking up a Colt M45A1, but everyone said not to do it.  I'm not sure if that was because it's an 80 series model or if they were remembering all the problems it had with the finish when it first got issued.
