General Discussion / CARES money for firearms section HPD
« on: October 23, 2020, 11:22:03 AM »
Most of the whole process could be done ONLINE. There is one reason and one reason only that they make this process so cumbersome and expensive,  TO DISCOURAGE LAW ABIDING CITIZENS FROM EXERCISING THEIR RIGHTS, under the Constitution of the United States and Hawaii. Criminals don't apply for permits for firearms.

Reloading / Dillon SDB refurb
« on: October 07, 2020, 09:33:23 PM »

I can't seem to remember, but thought I heard that Dillon will refurbish their presses for a good price.  Has anyone taken advantage of this, and how much did they charge?   I've emailed, but haven't got a response yet.

I am caught up on my handgun cartridges right now and think it would be a good time to send it off. This press must have 10K+ rounds through it..

Legal and Activism / Contact IGE, VETO ghost gun bill
« on: July 13, 2020, 10:28:59 PM »

Contact Governor Ige  and ask him to VETO HB2744  "ghost gun" bill.

The institution of yet ANOTHER bureaucracy, that cost taxpayer dollars, to implement more “studies” on violent crime, and the crime committed by FELONS with firearms, is not a necessary and prudent use of taxpayer dollars.  I can save this State millions right here and now.  Gun control DOES NOT WORK, because you cannot legislate morals nor values.  The only people that will be affected by gun control are the people that already abide by the laws.  This makes law-abiding citizens even more vulnerable to the very criminals that will NEVER abide such laws in any case.
The "ghost gun" rider CRAMMED into this bill will do absolutely nothing to stop nor hamper criminals or their intent. The law is useless.  Those who intend to build their own firearms for their own PERSONAL USE are the only people affected.  No CRIMINAL will be affected by this law as it is ALREADY a felony to build, posses, or use an unregistered firearm in the State of Hawaii.  This law also injects VERY VAUGE language, that can be manipulated and interpreted to turn THOUSANDS of currently legal gun owners,  that own thousands of the most popular platforms, into instant criminals.
Hawaii’s economy IS IN A DEATH SPIRAL.  We needed the legislature to work on the MAJOR AND IMMEDIATE threats and issues assaulting this State in its most dire time in the 21st century, and gun control of law-abiding citizens IS NOT ONE OF THESE THREATS.  Instead, they diverted valuable time in the name of partisan politics and special interests.   I am utterly disgusted by this waste of legislation and the entire legislature itself.

Quote
"Thank you for writing to me regarding legislation that is of importance to you. All bills passed during the 2020 legislative session will be transmitted to me for approval or veto. I will have ten session days to make decisions on bills that are passed on or prior to April 16, 2020. I will have until the veto deadline of July 14, 2020 for any bills that are enrolled in my office after April 16.

For bills I have not yet approved or vetoed, I will be considering public comments submitted prior to the veto deadline.

The Notice of Intent to Veto deadline (June 29, 2020) is the last day I can send a notice to the legislature that I am considering a veto on any bills not yet approved.

However, if a bill is on the intent-to-veto list, that does not mean I will veto it. I can also sign it or decide to let it become law without my signature.

If a bill that has been passed is not on the intent-to-veto list, it will become law, with or without my approval, after July 14, 2020.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts with me.

Aloha,
Governor David Ige"

Legal and Activism / MAG BILL IS DEAD 2020, but.........
« on: July 10, 2020, 05:01:49 PM »
Thank you for all your hard work and the HUNDREDS of LAWFUL gun owners who submitted testimony to fight for all of our RIGHTS.

Sadly, the continually chipping of our RIGHTS marches forward.

These "ghost gun" bills (HB2744) do absolutely nothing to stop nor hamper criminals or their intent. The law is useless.  Those who intend to build their own firearms for their own PERSONAL USE are the only people affected.

The other bill, to report all your firearms when you leave Hawaii, is utterly nonsense and totally unenforceable. Tell the govenor to VETO these bills.

Nice to know these so called "leaders" are wasting valuable time attacking law abiding citizens, and not concerning themselves with Hawaii's FAILING  economy.

PLEASE KNOW IF THESE SAME POLITICIANS GET REELECTED THIS WILL COME BACK NEXT YEAR AND TIME AND TIME AGAIN. VOTE THEM OUT

Health, Fitness, and First Aid / On mask and gloves for the virus
« on: March 28, 2020, 02:06:19 AM »
I see many wearing face masks and gloves now, some making their own.

I'm not going to say it will or won't protect you, I'm sure it's better than nothing at all, but I would like to point out something to at least think about.

From what I've been reading and gathering, the virus is most likely spread from touching a surface that the virus has landed on, unless you've walked through someone's immediate sneeze or cough.  From my reading, the virus stays active on surfaces for extended periods of time. When you touch a surface, then inadvertently touch your face, mouth, nose, eyes the virus makes entry.

So, what I am getting at is that if you are wearing PPE, such as gloves and a mask, it is very important that you doff the PPE in a way to not contaminate yourself near your face, eyes, nose, or mouth.

Gloves need to be removed as to not touch the exterior.

Mask needs to be doffed as to not let the inside press against the nose, eyes, and mouth.

You shouldn't be futzing with the mask once it is on, no pulling it up and down.  Once on once off.

These items should be once used only. You should remove them outside before entering into a known clean area, and you should thoroughly wash even if you were wearing them.

I don't know if that makes sense, but just something to think about. Just don't want people to get into a false sense of security and be less careful just because you have them.

General Discussion / 80% of new gun purchases?
« on: March 19, 2020, 08:42:40 AM »
In these times of panic, guns and ammo is flying off the shelves. Could and probably will be A LOT of new, inexperienced, gun owners. If you know friends and family in this category,  PLEASE assist them on proper and responsible gun ownership and handling.    All we need is a ton of NDs and accidental shootings to further make excuses for gun control.

Just food for thought..

Any suggestions on candidates who will defend the 2nd, and use our money more wisely to strengthen the 2nd Amendment?
