Chris is leaving?

Yup, if he gets the job in Cali.  Selfishly speaking, I hope you don't get it but I'm sure we all understand you have to live your life too.  Sad to see you go IF you go.
The Supreme Court has ruled that you, as an individual, have no right to protection by the police. Their only obligation is to protect "society".

Got to get me a war belt too some day!
(I was wearing mesh briefs btw lol)

I didn't have one either.  Maybe we were the only 2 without a war belt. I had to use my JC penny belt. LOL

Wow....that blows.

Best wishes for him; will be a hard man to replace.

We will see.  I've just finished up some interviews that came my way at the Federal Bureau of Prisons. I may have an opportunity to return to federal service (adding to my 10 years of military service), work as  LEO, and get to learn how to do it in a really shitty place =-p (USP Atwater).

I don't know if it will happen, but it's something my family and I are really have to think long and hard about.  Some serious potential for me in terms of retirement, salary, benefits etc. if I move back to Federal Work.

Nice meeting you and thanks for having us (my cousin and I) out there, Chris. I was the guy with the dachshund on my shirt with "I put pictures of my wiener on the internet" written on it. It was great to be able to pattern our shotguns, gotta say, I love the Federal FliteControl stuff! Hoping to see you out there more, but best of luck with the career move if you do get it. Sh!tty that it's Cali though, lousy gun laws... but I'll "hold" on to all your stuff if you want!

^^This. I would love to do some more run & gun stuff with my 930 & 590. My 590 is my go-to gun for HD, and I want to run her some more. Also, it was good fun to use my black powder .44!

These are the groups from 7 yards, if anyone is interested; Mossberg 930 with Improved Cylinder and 22" barrel on the left, and Remmy 870 with 18.5" cylinder bore on the right. From top to bottom as follows: Federal 00 buck, low-reoil with Flite Control wadding; Remington #4 buck; Winchester 00 buck (that stuff from Sports Authority). I had similar results with my M590 in the past.

USP Atwater. It's located in Atwater, CA, which is about two hours east of San Francisco.   It's a town of about 30,000, so nothing special.   The facility has a fairly high turn over rate and people seem to regard it as one of the more dangerous policies (although some places blame that on leadership and policies, vs the really the prisoners).   That said, the prison is a penitentiary, so there are the people who are there for life or other extended sentences with nothing else to live for.

Atwater... sounds nice. Doesn't sound as nice as Twenty-nine Palms, that place sounds like it must be a resort town! You'd think everyone would be fighting to get stationed there!
