i havent been to the range in over a year since covid started. Are the hours still the same as before? I'm guessing theres new covid rules? Social distancing and face mask required? Can we still just show up and get an open table?

After I finish prepping some foods for Father's Day I'll probably go in the afternoon.
I am blessed to have 4 wonderful children who will come to my house to celebrate dad's day.
Even my genetically imperfect daughter will be there. Perhaps she will create a dessert like this one that she made last year.
I'm sure glad we decided not to abort that defective baby 20 years ago.

Congrats,  that was your choice.   Good thing for now we still have that ability.

The KHSC website says the silhouette range is closed on holidays.  Since the actual holiday is Monday the 5th, I'd guess the silhouette side is open Sunday.  You could call and ask Saturday or Sunday if you want to be sure.  (808) 768-6720 is the number for the range.

Although Monday is normally a "Closed" day for the range, KHSC will be open in observance of Independence Day July 5th.  Only the rifle and pistol ranges will be open.  Hours are 8am - 4pm.

I do have to go work later, though.

Took my son, daughter in law, grandson, & his cousin. Younger were first time shooters. Daughter in law shot bow & arrow and hand guns. They all loved it. RSOs were very helpful and the shooter next to us was a big time help. He let them shoot his lever action rifles. Kudos to all there, much appreciated and very thankful. Ps, I didn't fire one shot but it was one of my best day at Kokohead!

Fairly empty on the rifle side this morning, was able to sight in my red dots. Might have to wander over to the action bays and observe one day

Yes you can.

I went to the pistol range but forgot to bring the target stand.
So I spent a couple hours chatting with some beginner  shooters.
It was fun.

Suggest you call the range to verify.  I was told no 9mm carbines on the pistol range…must be shot on the rifle.

i seen people shooting PCC at pistol.  but best to ask.  might have been a good buddy of the RSO shooting at pistol.

Went to kokohead today.  RO said PCC not allowed on pistol side.  Need to shoot on rifle side only for now.  They hope to one day allow 9mm PCC and 22 rifle back on pistol side.

When I go to the pistol side I see the same guy come and shoot his .22 rifle.  I always wondered if they would let someone shoot a .357 or .44 magnum lever gun at pistol.

My friend used to shoot his 22 carbine on the pistol side.
Pretty sure they won't allow larger caliber rifles on the pistol side.
I had to chronograph my 9mm carbine on the rifle side.
If I remember to, I'll ask the RO to clarify this today.

Idk if this will help, but when i had a colt 9mm rifle i couldnt shoot it pistol side.

But this was like 2012-2013.

Possible the rules have changed by now.
