General Discussion / Votevets?
« on: March 26, 2024, 10:21:11 AM »
Something disturbing popped up.
A political ad from capitol.hawai.gov.
From something called votevets.org
See the picture and the video ad.

Now see the page from votevets.org---seems schizophrenic to me
"defending our constitution"?

Taking a break from all the depressing news of the world.
Today is National "Pistol Patent Day"

Pistol Patent Day is observed to commemorate the day Samuel Colt received the patent for the revolver in 1835.

in case you were wondering....yes, that is me.

Political Discussion / Biden reminds Hawaii to behave
« on: February 23, 2024, 04:41:00 AM »
Like I said before, watch your six. There is always some other way to screw us over.
This is how politics works.
What am I talking about? Turn on the 6 0clock news.
https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2024/02/17/transportation-secretary-buttigieg-visit-maui-amid-wildfire-recovery-efforts/

Hawaii is heavily dependent on the federal dollars to get things done.
Biden sees Hawaii slipping out of his fingers.
Biden sends Pete Buttijig to Hawaii to remind our local politicians to be obedient democrats.
His visit to Hawaii at this time is a blatant stunt to boost support for the democrat party agenda.
If we don't behave ourselves, we can kiss our federal funding bye bye.
On the list of federal dollars that are at risk:
Airport maintenance
Shipping docks
Lahaina reconstruction

In the big picture, us little guys complaining about losing our gun rights is nothing compared to the millions of dollars at stake.

Legal and Activism / SNEAK attack: Another Fire mission SB2845
« on: February 12, 2024, 04:14:36 AM »
Remember how I keep warning you folks to watch your six?
I suspected SB3196 was a diversion.
At the same hearing on the same day at the same time, they are proposing SB2845 which basically prohibits people under 21 from going shooting.
For me, I was shooting guns since I was 7 yrs old. I taught my 4 kids when they were young also. None of them are in jail or rehab.

So what I suspect is that they (legislators) scheduled 2 anti-gun law hearing at the same time so we all jumped on SB3196.
So we all submitted testimony about 3196 and popped open a beer and watched the football game.
Unaware that another law was sneaking in behind YOU.

member BRU brought this one to our forum.

This high school shooting club would be illegal and the coach would be arrested for selling ammo to these high school kids. This is not a joke.

Political Discussion / Aloha supersedes the 2A
« on: February 08, 2024, 08:53:40 AM »
“We read those words differently than the current United States Supreme Court. We hold that in Hawai’i there is no state constitutional right to carry a firearm in public,” began the Court at the top of its opinion before going on to assert that “the spirit of Aloha clashes with a federally-mandated lifestyle that lets citizens walk around with deadly weapons during day-to-day activities.”
They continued:

The history of the Hawaiian Islands does not include a society where armed people move about the community to possibly combat the deadly aims of others.

The Government’s interest in reducing firearms violence through reasonable weapons regulations has preserved peace and tranquility in Hawai’i. A free-wheeling right to carry guns in public degrades other other constitutional rights.
=====================
History and tradition shows that Kamehameha open carried a deadly weapon.

Off Topic / Looking for a venue
« on: January 30, 2024, 04:55:25 AM »
I'm seeking suggestions for a venue to have something like a small reunion.
It's not gun related. Maybe 100 people but that's just a guess.
I really liked Big City Pearlridge but the lanai only holds 60 people.
Someone suggested St. Louis Clubhouse.

Make a suggestion.

I went to the range yesterday and saw these kids with a real lemonade stand.
My yeti cup just ran out of water so I stopped and bought some. It sure hit the spot.
It is good to see some actual entrepreneurial spirit nowadays, rather than some idiots doing stoopid stuff on social media to get clicks.

This is supposed to be worse than the usual sun outages when the sun aligns itself with com satellites a couple times a year.

Fundraising Table Help Wanted
I'm looking for a few guys or gals to sit at my table while I shoot pics at the gun show.
My table will be promoting the 2A Hawaii forum and maybe HIFICO also.
There will be items for sale and most of the money will be donated to help the HIFICO legal expenses.

Reply to this thread and tell me what day you can help. Saturday or Sunday.

I estimate that it takes about 5 or 6 hours to photograph the show so If I can get 5 people to sit for 1 hour each, that should do it.
This sign will be on the table.

Political Discussion / The Next Issue-ammo?

My cousin sent me this message:
==
Washington Democrats opened the 2024 legislative session with another assault on gun rights.
This time they hope to reclassify ammunition as a “privilege” —
one that should be subject to an onerous tax because the one thing they love more than taking away guns is taking away your money.
