Off Topic / Machine shop

Got a friend with a 69 Mustang with a 351 Windsor.
We pulled the heads and found a piston with a chunk missing.
The plan is to pull the engine and have a shop go through it.
Any shop recommendations for a hot 351?

Recently acquired a Colt Combat Commander 1911.
Took it out to the range a couple weeks ago.
First couple of mags were good, then failure to extract on second to last/last round.
Tried different mags and ammo with same results.
The extractor was pulled and inspected.(really fouled up)
Didn't notice anything real obvious.
Anybody willing to take a look and give advice?

Landlord told me, my residence is going to be fumigated.
After doing some research, all safes,lockers,cabinets, drawers have to be left open.
The fumigation company needs keys to the residence.
So what am I to do with my firearms?
Im not going to leave them unsecured, guessing I can't take the entire collection to a hotel...
Any suggestions?

Ok guys, dusting off the ol' shot gun that Ive had since high school.
A new stock has been installed, now Im looking at sights.
Should I go ghost ring or fiber optic?
Anybody have experience with one or both?

 Just bought a bunch of Federal 9mm Luger 115 grain FMJ.
    Kinda want to do a unscientific test to see what I shoot best.
         Anybody interested in trading my 115 for your 124 or 147?

Had an hour to kill, so I stopped by SEC. They have brand new, from the manufacture, 50 cal. ammo cans for $15 a piece. Standard OD green with no markings. Most people were walking out with two at a time.

Also Federal 5.56 1000 rnd.case. No price as of yet, hasn't been inventoried.

Overall I had a relaxing time browsing the shelves and got to fondle a couple of the consignment pistols.  :thumbsup:

Looking at taking the gun safety course. Is there a better quality/quantity course for the price? Found prices ranging from $120-$150-$180. Considering HDF since there are non-profit, and the price is right. Any discounts if I join? Was going to anyways, even if no discount. Thanks for the input.
