Where did you do it? Did you do it with any sort of regularity? What sort of range?

Did it on few of the islands.  Kinda regular for a few years, out to and beyond 1000 yds.

How much elevation did you haul a 20+ pound rifle up?

Too much lol I was younger then. And it didn't weigh much compared to the pigs we packed out of the mountains lol

Was the meat damage as severe as everybody would assume?

Meat damage depended on where you hit them. But yeah it could be quite severe if hit at certain angles. But so was the 30-416 Rigby we built n 338-408 and other big wildcats we built.

Why? I am intrigued to hear some elaboration.

Why not? Lol, honestly not being sarcastic brother. I feel those who posted after me answered that perfectly.

I love and have a passion for hunting and shooting irregardless of what I'm using. Ive used knife, spear, handgun, rifle, muzzleloader, bow, shotgun etc. The caliber is just a small piece of the puzzle.  As long as it's being done legally n ethically then I don't see a problem. And having to justify why I choose one caliber over another is downright bogus IMHO. As long as it's legal and ethical. We shouldn't have to justify ourselves to them.

My family loved long range shooting n hunting. We loved building wildcats long ago. The 50 was the biggest case we could get our hands on n went from there. When the 408 came out we built 338-408 wildcats then 375 CT.

To answer op ? Yes, I've used 50 bmg n some 50 bmg variants to hunt here. Also hunt with 50 beowulf as well for a long time now since AA created it.

Yup friend in line for pta just told me same thing. If applying for permit to acquire today, if they want to pick it up next year they need to bring certificate of new training requirements for pickup after 1/1/24.

Sorry was trying to quote this also

This is true.

That's not what they told my wife. They told my wife that you could apply to the 29th with her hunter Ed card. So why now they're saying no can. They just told her this last week because I had her ask.

My friend is in line right now because he just bought a pistol. And he was told the same thing as my wife from hpd and the gun shop he bought the pistol at.

That's why hard  :wtf:

A friend told me Mondays are the worst is that true?
🤙

Idk if it's true or not, but my wife went there at 8 this morning and was 23rd in line. She texted me at 1015 she hadn't moved in an hour. She also texted that someone had come out and passed out paperwork to those who hadn't done it.

So not sure what's up and why it's taking so long? She texted her phone was almost dead so we'll have to see how it went.

Yeah it's been hardly in stock and when it did come available it sold out quick. I got a bunch of norma as that's all I could find. Then was able to get some ADG here and there as they came in stock.

Mahalo for looking out for the powder bro appreciate it.

Aloha bradda Zippz

First of all,  Mahalo for speaking with HPD about the incident that happened.

What concerns me about your conversation with the SGT there is that he was unaware of the incident. So that would make it seem that either the officers there knew and didn't care (and not say anything less they get in trouble etc) or were uninformed?

I remember reading something about officers possibly being placed there for disciplinary action. If that is the case then maybe they may not know the settlement rules etc. I honestly don't know just thinking out loud. Maybe, having HPD place a notice or some other type of notification in a place easily observable to the officers reminding them of that rule/advance notice required for certain situations etc

That may or may not help the situation(s) but either way. I'd like to thank you for what you do to defend 2A in Hawai'i Nei

Aloha

Got my tracking already? Well I guess I got lucky by randomly pulling the trigger yesterday on one. I was actually thinking more like next month or something for them to get some in stock. Maybe they had some stash somewhere 😂..

Awesome bradda glad it went thru for you 🤙

It's been awesome so far pretty much point n shoot. Put close to 1000 rounds past it maybe more. Hasn't dropped a shot. Done rifle, pistol, pellet gun and my bow. I love it!!! Fits in my pocket with mini tripod it comes with and light as a feather. I've had my Oehler, MS, LR n now this Garmin. It's my fave so far by far! So easy I can do it 🤣

Hopefully can get some rounds downrange with this little guy soon.  So far... I'm loving the look, feel n size of this thing. It fits rather easily in my cargo pocket even in my front pocket with tripod. From what my friends told me about is operation and from what I've read so far on the web. CAN'T WAIT to use it!

Was going have my bradda grab it for me and send it lol. If you didn't already I would order with CST they have a bunch of units coming next month. They called and processed my payment so already so hopefully soon.

Yes, I’ve received mine a week ago and have used it a few times. A couple of times with a cheap Daisy with .177 pellets and once at an indoor range. No issues with the Garmin picking up either of my .177 pellets or 9mm. The only issue I’ve had was at the indoor range. It would also pickup the shots from the person in the lane next to me a few feet away.

Mahalo for the info bradda BRU!
