I’m cool with many of the boomers on this board. They can take a joke and trade barbs without being all insulted.

Right Inspector?   ???

Personally after seeing the increasing amount of evidence that says hitting kids can cause lasting damage I have grown increasingly against it. I am not totally against it but I think that its use should be moderated. I think that we should not spank children out of anger because it seems that they may associate hitting as being when you are angry. It can be hard to do sometimes but I try to keep any hitting as strictly a consequence of the action and not something related to any emotion I may feel. My kids are both close to ten years old now and I rarely have cause to spank them anymore.

I was spanked as a child though not excessively so I can't really attest to being excessively spanked or not spanked at all.

This thread was meant to be light hearted fun.

Wanna talk seriously about disciplining your kids? Cool, but pls go elsewhere.

In all fairness your post didn't indicate you wanted light hearted talk but if that is your desire then I shall abide.

My parents hit me occasionally and I feel I turned out well adjusted.

Are you a boomer?

Well, I’m sure we can arrange for a “correction day” to smack you around for a while.  ;D

I bet pretty much every boomer still remembers their home telephone number when they were a kid 50+ years ago.  I still remember most of my friend's phone numbers from when I was a kid.

All good. Just many other more serious threads, arguing, etc. And yeah, I kinda meant to open a can of worms with the boomers and boomer+’es. Haha

And you “think” you turned out well adjusted.  :P

I still remember the number of the house I grew up in. Some numbers of good friends and family. Many still have the same number.

Now? I can’t tell you the cell numbers of even my best friends. My sister is about the only cell I have memorized.
