Does anyone have a measurement from bench to bench at center point is? If its ~6ft. then the range officers shuld be able to open up based off of the restrictions in place.

Shooting ranges are federally considered "essential' and supposed to be open, then again the entire "covid rules" are suggestions, not legal edicts.

Extending the days for hunting on Kauai gives a small glimmer of hope that our leaders did not forget the shooting/hunting/firearms community.

As more and more parks, beaches, malls, and businesses open, the question soon will be asked as to why the shooting range remains closed if it hasn't been open along with all of the above.

I think it would be reasonable to demand an explanation if it indeed is still closed.  Logic does not follow if people are allowed to enter enclosed spaces and open spaces like beaches, parks, and golf courses can open.

KHSC is no different than these open space facilities.  We should challenge and appeal to their logic as to why the range is still closed.  I know I intend to do that.

I'm hoping it doesn't come down to this but wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Logic?
Logic notwithstanding, it's not such a bad idea to wear face masks while shooting due to airborne residue.
However, AFAIK, it's not a serious problem at outdoor ranges like KHSC.

Maybe we should resort to telling him we’re going to vote for Tulsi for Gov if he doesn’t hurry up! 🤪

I can see them restricting the number to every other space, especially on the pistol side.  Ho, going be long lines the first month or two, just like when Obama got elected the the 2nd time or when Daiso opened!

Fingers crossed.

COVID19 range reopening target:

I also was thinking, (which is pretty dangerous btw...…)

Besides range targets,

1)  They would make good pet toys for cats and dogs to play with.

2) They can replace the old tired badminton balls with a ball like this.

3)  Maybe a Covid-19 pillow?

4)  Maybe they can replace the old Bozo the clown red nose with a nose like this.  I'd like to buy several thousand of these to send as gifts to certain political leaders and such.

#4 has a lot of sales and profit potential imho.  ;)

I hope the range is really going to be open.  Archery ranges will be good too.  Hopefully between the two I can get some line time to change up the monotony lately.

Will any of the rangemasters/RSOs be able to confirm the green light to re-open? If the KSHC website could be updated, that’d be great also :)

Good luck!

Btw, random idea, I think a public donation box might be a good idea in case additional expenses arise for the range (hand sanitizer, wipes, etc.)
