Take your time
When you feel better, those JR 50th anniversary are great!
Smooth and tasty 👍👍
Great construction, draw is perfect. Solid smoke 🤙

what the hell....
It's been 2 months since the last cigar, so I did indulge this evening.
I was doing a lot of cleanups today and the weather was cool outside, so I selected a Padilla 1968 Honduran Toro and lit up with a mug of fresh brewed Major Dickason's coffee.
It was wonderful. ;D

It was a crappy week at work, so I had a La Perla toro with a tall glass of Whiskey soda.
Because it was hot today and keeping well hydrated is important to good health.

I get cubans from a friend of a friend.
But quite honestly, You can get really great cigars by mail order from Cigars International or Thompson.
Some of the lesser-known brands are better than big-name brand cubans or dominicans.

I have a guy in CA that has got me some Cubans every once in a great while
but I also have had some really good Dominicans, Hondurans, and Nicaraguans too.
I usually order from JR cigars or Thompsons
my last order was Henry Clay Dominican and JR Ultimate rothschild in natural wrapper which tastes more on the mild to medium but is very flavorful
Henry Clay is an old go-to brand that I like to get frequently.  medium to full strength.  its the first cigar that I bought a whole box of them

another one of my go-to's is Partagas Black Pyramid
its strong and flavorful.  oily wrapper.  I can hear the oil burning/sizzling when I smoke it.  good stuff!!!

Putting together a new humidor, any suggestions on what sticks to put in it? Looking for mild to medium cigars that are good for everyday smokes and to share with guests.  And any suggestions for personal smokes would be much appreciated.

==========
Go to Cig. Int. and search La Perla Habana or La Aroma de Cuba

I thought these were just a good as any Cuban cigar at a lower cost.
The thing to remember is that cigars are an agricultural product like mangoes.
Some years are better than others.

This is a great sampler. All crafted by AJ Fernandez
I would definately order this again. Well constructed, great taste, great variety. I highly recommend this sampler

If I dont really know what I want. I'll look for a sampler with some good reviews. A lot of great choices.

Some good brands on the medium to mild side are:
Perdomo - mild
Alec Bradley- medium
Oliva - medium
Punch - mild to medium
Henry Clay- medium
Romeo y Julieta - mild to medium
Montecristo - medium to full
H Upman - medium to full
Partagas- medium to full

Perdomo is a great mild cigar
Cant go wrong with Oliva or Alec Bradley  prensado or prensado lost art

Every Punch  cigar I've tried made me wobbly.
It's fine if you don't have to walk around.
Great flavor.

About 2 years ago, my buddy gifted me a box of Cuban Hoyo de Monterey double coronas.
Two years ago, we both agreed that they were junk. They tasted "green", as if they were not aged.
I put them on the shelf.

Fast forward 2 years

Last week my cigar buddy dropped by and said, "Let's try those Hoyos again! It's been 2 years!"
So we did. They are wonderful now. We thoroughly enjoyed them with a bottle of Venezuelan rum.
I think they will be even better with another year or two aging.

I think that maybe if you buy cheaper cigars today and they don't taste very good, just let them age a few years.
You might be surprised.

Rocky Patel Winter Collection
I got 5 of these in a 10 pack along with the Aging Room cigars
very good.  Cigar Aficionado rates it 90. but I think its a little better than that.  well constructed, draw is great, a little on the strong side
but I liked this 10 pack so much, I ordered another 10 pack
next I'll order a different 10 pack with the same Aging Room cigar, but a different Rocky Patel cigar

As of July 1 no shipments to Hawaii from any tobacco retailers.  Something about the new law.
