Looked like a fun class yesterday when I dropped in to say hi briefly. I hope to make it to the next one! :shaka:

Thanks for hosting like always.
I've learned that when shooting strong side, take a step forward (right foot forward of left) and it helps greatly with recoil control. Recoil was cut by about half vs. staying in my modified weaver stance (left foot slightly forward of right foot).
The wood shoot was fun. Good thing we had a guy with a 45 on our team.

Was that shooting on a barricade?
When you mentioned "recoil was cut by about half", do you mean how much the recoil pushed you out of your previous stance?
All interesting. . .

No barricade. When I used my regular stance and shot strong side with slight cant, the gun would move about up to the left about 5 inches. With right foot more forward (leaning into the shot) it's half of that.
Like shooting a shotgun leaning forward vs shooting one flat footed.

Shooting strong hand only?
I think get that you’re saying, but don’t see the shotgun analogy.

Shooting shotgun in weaver vs. Even footed.

Another tip is to use your back, shoulder, and arms muscles to support the gun one handed. Most people just focus on forearm and hand grip.
