Thanks for a great combo class.  This was the 1st time that I used my sling in a live fire and transitioned to pistol.

Things I learned:

1) How to better transition from rifle to pistol.  Got more reps in.  So many that I got a blister on the inner of my middle finger on strong side.  Middle finger rubbing bottom of trigger guard during reload.  Due to the decreased range of motion for a sling, it caused the blister.  The sling stopped the rifle from a higher high ready.

2)  Figured out my hold over a little better at 15 yards.

3) Was able to fire faster and keep my grouping with the AR tight and consistent

4) Need to practice more pistol to be consistent. (Focus)

5) Gear placement, might add a pistol mag to my gcode AR mag holder.  It's able to attach one to it in the front.  For emergency reload purposes.

I always tell myself this but end up making excuses.

Shooting pistols is not easy, shooting pistols on the move is harder, shooting pistols on the move with a slung carbine is even more difficult. I wouldn't keep going to HDF Range Days if it were not challenging.

I was more disappointed at how many shots I dropped with the carbine.

Got a Amazon gift card from the parents for Xmas.  So I might buy that Gcode pistol mag holder we were talking about.  Check out a guy named "Tylerdex".  He makes cool holsters also, but expensive like $300 kine.
