He was a blackhawk pilot. He crashed his helicopter and got a bronze star.

Not exactly an expert pilot but an 'expert' in firearms. A paid, for-hire talking muppet.
Heres his business and gee doesnt surprise anyone who his client is for pushing the AWB bill. A PAID mainlander pushing their political agenda on locals.

If it is an irrelevant point, why are you making it? You sure seem bothered to come out throwing mud when we were having a cordial conversation.

Driving without a license is a criminal violation BTW.
Why was he still allowed to drive? What kind of question is that, do you think cops are standing around approving every time a person starts a car? You think criminals are going to follow the laws?

you are not nice person

There is no money in prosecution vs. passing anti 2a laws.
Contrary to #immadoctor Hawaii doesn't have a gun problem we have a judicial problem. All these lobbyists and greedy politicians don't do the will of the people or are bound by strong morals.

Even prosecutors are listening to Tina Yamaki! Just give 'em to the criminals. No gun involved let 'em just take! Everybody safe! Nobody got shot! It's a 'safe' crime! Spread da ALOHA!

https://www.khon2.com/local-news/store-owner-sounds-the-alarm-on-rising-theft-urging-prosecutors-to-do-more-to-stop-it/

It’s an ongoing problem business owners say is getting worse. The issue: shoplifting.

James Gieschen, president of Sugar Sugar Hawaii retail store, said enough is enough and wants prosecutors to do more to stop it.
Local buyer says Tesla didn’t ship his special edition car and sold it to someone else

“If we just boil it down to one word, what is the issue here? It’s inaction,” Geischan said.

He is frustrated because he said his shop has been dealing with shoplifting since they opened six years ago and things have only gotten worse.

“It’s gotten really bad recently,” Geischan explained. “It’s about one to two thefts per day across all locations. And that’s a huge hit for a small business.”

Geishcan has invested thousands into a top-of-the-line surveillance system. He posts photos of the shoplifters on his store walls as a deterrent, and he reports most of the incidents to police But he said nothing seems to change.

General Discussion / CCW people turn them in!
« on: April 10, 2025, 06:13:59 PM »
that's the scene setter for this article  :grrr: people that own and carry firearms are the problem!
https://www.kitv.com/news/department-of-law-enforcement-hopes-to-get-hundreds-of-guns-off-the-streets-through-buyback/article_e2babc92-96d9-48e8-91bc-c6315af4bec5.html

More than 2,000 people filed for a license to carry a concealed firearm in 2024.

That's according to a first-ever statewide report from the Hawaii Attorney General.

With a notable rise in gun violence in the islands, efforts are intensifying to reclaim firearms through a buyback program.

But an increase in gun violence is prompting the state Department of Law Enforcement to double down on programs to take back firearms.

I sympathize for those toxic topic derailing individual(s) with learning disabilities. Particularly individual(s) with ADHD, dyslexia, melodramatic cognitive dissonance, extreme feminine sensitivity to thermal differences, the indolent ability to travel perceptually long distances, or the lack of gross motor skills, etc.  Compassion. :shaka:

But getting back to the topic of HSTs vs Gold Dots....anyone have access to ballistic gel? Factory or home made. I'm interested in replicating the test but with different pistolas.

It's not worth your own business that you built to give it all away to someone who is a criminal.
It's not worth your own business that supports your family.

The irony is that someone like Tina Yamaki who never owned a business before to tell business owners what their worth is....

General Discussion / Don't be a hero! Just give it to them!

While our legislators are busy disarming the law abiding, we are reminded to always be the victim, not a hero! Just give them your hard earned money! Shower criminals with ALOHA!

https://www.khon2.com/hawaii-crime/gunpoint-robberies-on-oahu-dont-be-a-hero/

“Whenever we hear about armed robbery and stuff, we always tell people, ‘Don’t be a hero. Your life is not worth it,” said Retail Merchants of Hawaii president Tina Yamaki. “Your adrenaline is going. We don’t want anybody to be shot. You know, a stray bullet hitting another customer or our worker. We just want it to be safe for everybody.”

Safe for everybody? Did this message get to the criminal holding the gun? I doubt he/she has taken an HPD approved safety class prior to legally acquiring the gun and registering it. How do we know that the criminal won't shoot after they got the money Tina?

It is good that he covered it.
I think it is ironic they are both designed to do the same thing by the same parent company yet be different in terms of performance. If there was a superior bullet I would expect the company to go with that bullet, not offer two different ones. If you don't consider that ironic that's fine.

You thought wrong. What you are referring to is market cannibalism which is not the case. Some firearms will perform better with one bullet or the other. Notice that the author of the video used ONE pistol. The topic discussed is the effectiveness of the bullets.

Factories produce a wide variety of ammunition (i.e. Sierra TMKs, non tipped MatchKings, moly, non-moly, cannellured etc.) in seemingly similar offerings because they can perform differently in a variety of firearms.
What I didn't get information on in the OP video is jacket thickness.
What is a "superior" bullet? One that has a high BC or one that stops any person with one shot? Is accuracy a factor? There is no ONE solution.

Stop derailing threads especially in these technical posts. Take your bullshit to the Political section.

You would think that if one was significantly better then they would make the other one better instead of having one product make the other one look inferior. Unless one of them is considered a discount brand?

No, that was not the point of the video. The test was measured in penetration, velocity and not marketing. The author of the video mentioned the assumption that since both loads were from the same company that owned both brands it may translate to identical powder charges and other factors besides the bullet to establish a baseline.

Your explanation does not exemplify irony.
