Given what we are willing to spend at a gun show,
buy an airplane ticket and go to a real show.
This Hawaii shiite isn't worth the effort

Most the displaced people are renters.
Let them all go to Las Vegas where they can live the "good life"
This "Aina "  BS wears very thin on a critically thinking man.
Rich guys are going to swoop in and make money.
Your Democrat government will facilitate that.

Orgs like MDA, ET, Brady are all silent so far. Guess they only care if a gun was used.
They don't want to admit, it is not the weapon, but is the evil person misusing it.
Destroys their world view.

I spend a lot of time on the BI.
I know this place.
It is very remote
I usually go to the piss poor boat ramp to drink beer and talk to locals.
And buy fish fresh off the boat cash only.
You can't drink in the park where all the terrorists go.  Did I misspell tourist?

You can't safely surf or swim there, the currents are nasty.
There are a few VRBO houses there.
Tourism buses ruins the rental so don't bother.
Unless you park a casino there
It will fail in most anything they do with it.
Too remote.

In the spirit of "We've GOT to do something!!" it is far easier to take away from law abiding citizens than it is to address criminals and the crimes they commit......

And "they" (the asshat politicians and government leaders) get to say they "did" something.

rinse and repeat and people wonder why the same horrible things happen again and again.
It's not really anything the politicians can fix.
Although they are arrogant enough to think they can
with laws and progressive activist judging and law prosecution.
It is far more fundamental.
Society has to do it.
God,family, and country.  Practice that , infuse it into the children's heads.
Work with the bad ones. You will never escape evil but at least minimize it
and if they cross the red lines,  permanently remove them from society
no parole, be humane, but you are out!

20 years ago Kapiolani Blvd didn’t look like an outdoor insane asylum. There weren’t two acid attacks in as many months. The number of traffic fatalities was far lower along with the suicide rate for kids. Something is driving people insane in record numbers.
Liberal Democrat Party policies.
Old school Democrats would never have tolerated
the BS the Democrats execute today.

Super cute fam. So sad.

People are going nuts in record numbers lately. Watch your 6

This not a new phenomenon.  We just have more information
about it today.
Looking at the age of the kids and the culture,  I can see part of the problem.
I knew where guns were in my house and how to use them.
I had one under my bed.  We lived in a bad neighborhood.
I would have shot my father had I had the chance,  were he to do
anything close to what that man started to do and did.
Not blaming the victims in any way shape or form!
But in my America it is dangerous for animals like him to operate.
In Hawaii it is way too simple.

I thought you were smarter than that.

if you take the time to bitch about the rules, try directing those complains to the people who can change it.

Otherwise. your only option is to shut up and color.

I can't legally vote in Hawaii
anymore.

i grew up in a place and time when the Fall always came with the smell of people burning piles of leaves in the drainage ditches in front of their homes.

I don't think politics has anything to do with rules against those kinds of activities.  It's about whether your actions are causing the neighbors problems.  one house surrounded by 6 neighbors burning leaves can be a bit overwhelming with smoke and odor.

If you think you are an exception to burn ordinances, you should take your case to the people who passed the rules.  Maybe you can get an exception based on your lack of nearby neighbors, prevailing winds that carry burning embers and smoke away from others, etc.?

Just a thought.

Unless you are a rich Democrat you are screwed law wise,
They don't have the same rules as everybody else.
I deal with it locally and talk to the local authorities.
informally and neighbors.
Hawaiian style,  WA  and CA state style.
No surprises and be low key.

City life = city rules.

Country life = country rules.

I'd think someone living in Green Acres country would know that.

You reminded me of The Beverly Hillbillies.  The Clampetts were always getting in trouble for living by Tennessee mountain rules that were unacceptable in a big city.

When in Rome ...
You rather miss my point, USA City people run the government and IMPOSE their values on everybody,  everywhere.
The Romans at least didn't impose their values and religion, they just wanted tax money from the conquered.
The locals were left pretty much to themselves otherwise.
Can you Imagine a Democrat allowing me to burn trash in my Yard?
Even with charged hoses and fire extinguishers?
Oh the HORROR!

At that temp, tires don't work -- they stay rigid with one flat side!  Ka-LUNK - Ka-LUNK!!

Radiators and coolant freeze -- 100% glycol might make it to -40, but most run 50/50 water/antifreeze for best cooling vs. freeze-resistance.  That's not taking wind chill into account.

Windshields crack with the smallest of pebble impacts.  Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage was the only base I ever saw with their own SafeLite windshield repair and replacement shop.

I can't see myself living near the Arctic during the Winter months.
Not too many peoples live south of 50 degrees South latitude.
Lots of peoples come from above 50 degrees North latitude.
Explains why we are all so tough and Independent.
I could live in very cold climates, but not when people in Honolulu,
Seattle, or Washington D.C.
tell me I can't burn wood or coal to keep warm.

I watched that report last night.  Tim Pool also did a good review.

I remember -40F ambient on the flight line in North Dakota.
We all plugged our cars in as SOP.
Even gas engines won't work if not heated,
Oil get too viscous to start.

You never point a gun at something you don't want to destroy.

Movies never have people point guns at other people.
Can you spell "special" effects and "editing"?

Most those people can't shoot worth a Shiite anyway.

sorry @groveler
i was wrong, you are right
it's 200 days
my apologies...
No reason to apologize friend.
I doubt anybody on this site
does what I do.
Seems like most guys here are full time Hawaii legal residents
Happy to pay taxes to Honolulu and
trying to exercise their rights under the 2A here in Hawaii.

Not really. it assumes there's a libertarian side of politics, and anyone paying a minimum amount of attention has come to realize that the only official choices are between Coke and Pepsi flavored totalitarianism
"the only official choices are between Coke and Pepsi flavored totalitarianism"
In many places you are absolutely correct!
Most large cities only have one flavor.
Hawaii doesn't have legal cities so We all have the single flavor choice, town of Honolulu.
