Firearms and Accessories / Re: My Holster Experiences
« on: December 04, 2021, 05:15:53 PM »
Best and most comfortable holsters I’ve tried are made by bladetech.  IWB and OWB. For some reason they are hard to find when I went looking. They are standard type holster though, so no lights or dots.

They are not Made from kydex, but some other kind of plastic. It kind of gives, whereas kydex is really stiff, and doesn’t feel uncomfortable, even against skin.  I have a IWB for my Kahr CM9, the tiny lightweight 9mm (little over 1lb loaded) disappears appendix carry. Very comfortable. The holster has one belt clip, which means easy on and easy off, with the pistol in the holster, which IMO is a good safety feature. Pistol has limited capacity though, but nice to have the power of 9mm, and more slim than a revolver.

Ps. I have way more than 5 holsters. Lol

General Discussion / Re: Alec Baldwin shoots and kills someone

Unless there is video of the incident, it would be impossible to prove other wise.  So the fact that he's making this statement, tells me there is no video and he's just trying to cover his a$$.

Not being a Baldwin supporter, just devils advocate.

Being this was a western, they are probably using single action army revolvers. If he cocked the hammer part way and his thumb slipped, the gun can and will go off without a trigger pull. He could be technically telling the truth.

This still is no excuse, IMO, for unsafe gun handling.

Strategies and Tactics / Re: Get a Stronger Grip, or Not?
« on: December 01, 2021, 06:51:05 PM »
Grip isn't as important as proper trigger control and sight alignment fundamentals in my opinion and experience.  Having a "good enough grip" to control the handgun, ie not drop the gun or otherwise be unsafe, is enough.

Ignore recoil, control the trigger pull so your sights are not disturbed, you will hit your target.  Once you get this down, and only then, you work on speed and follow up shots.

LOT of dry fire practice will teach your muscle memory.  Front sight focus!

Loaded these on top of 6.0 of BE86 and I clocked them at about 935fps - so I need to back down. Otherwise they shot great. First shot was an X

My standard load is 3.7 grns Bullseye under 200 grn SWC, runs a little over 700FPS.

Seems BE86 is a slower burning powder. Not sure if you can get to that slow, but if you can, might be a good shooter.

Interesting calculator.
Here's some shooting to demonstrate the error

Pretty cool

I drilled a small hole in the rear lens cap for my non adjustable parallax scope.  At long distance I closed the cap and look through the small hole.  Seemed to cut down the error at 600

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/diego-sanchez-hospitalized-serious-case-143311071.html

“ Sanchez, a UFC Hall of Famer, posted an update last week, saying that he was doing better after qualifying for Regeneron monoclonal antibodies. But since then, it appears things have taken a turn for the worse, leaving him with low oxygen levels, blood clots in both legs and pneumonia that has attacked his respiratory system.

Despite experiencing severe symptoms from COVID-19, Sanchez said he hasn’t taken his vaccination shots yet because he’s not entirely sold.“

Not sure how taking the shots after you already have covid is going to do anything.

Also, with all the millions that have already contracted covid, why haven't they figured out why some people are severely affected and some die, while other barely show they are sick, some with nary a symptom.....

I'd think that would be an important piece of data, I mean, IF "saving lives" was soooooo important...

This would be an awfully convenient time for him to shuffle off his mortal coil.  "oh he passed away due to complications from anesthesia."
I seriously doubt that would happen though.  The whole thing will more than likely end up being another nothing burger.

Unless, in his compromised state, killery fears exposure.  Yikes.

It’s worth noting however, this very scenario would be played out. Double yikes…

Kamala Harris Will Become ‘Acting President’ in Transfer of Power As Biden Goes to Walter Reed Hospital

https://conservativebrief.com/harris-3-54866/?utm_source=CB&utm_medium=922

President Joe Biden is handing over the powers of the presidency to Kamala Harris as he heads in for a medical procedure at Walter Reed Hospital.
On the day before his 79th birthday Biden is going in for a colonoscopy and will be under anesthesia, during which time Harris will be in charge, The Daily Mail reported.

The White House said Harris would work out of her office in the West Wing, meaning she will not be in the Oval Office as she assumes presidential power.

General Discussion / Re: Gunbroker experiences
« on: November 15, 2021, 10:02:40 PM »
After two months of bidding on Gunbroker, I finally encountered an auction that triggered the 15 minute rule. A .38 Special Colt Shooting Master revolver was up for auction from a lawyer's collection of firearms.

https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/914751797

This handgun was manufactured in 1932 and now falls into the category of Curios and Relics (C & R). As such, most gun dealers sell with the proviso that the pistol is subject to a fire at your own risk provision. Good luck to the final winner.

Stunning

Did a bunch of transactions on GB.  All went smoothly.  Of course YMMV

Never used Paypal for GB, just doesn't seem correct.

I bought coated and non coated bullets from SNS casting not too long ago.
They make good bullets. A lot of action shooters use SNS too.

I've also had good experience with SNS coated bullets as well.

https://precisionbullets.com/product/45-200-swc/

Just got a sample from these folks.  I got 147 .358 flat points for cowboy action shooting.  The bullets look very well cast and uniform.  Coating is very nice. Still need to test them, but i think by looking and experience, they will make clean and accurate ammo.

Seems .451 200 grain SWC is in stock now.

Don't trust this "not inspected" annotation. Lawmakers in HI don't care about the Constitution. I'm speculating that this is just a backdoor for them to further erode any rights.

Exactly my thoughts when I seen it

Did give the new "system" a run last week.  Took the firearm info and form to the window.  The officer asked, "no gun?" I said yep, no gun..     They annotated "not inspected" on my form and said nothing else.   Pretty easy.  Hope they do the online thing soon, as instructed by the courts.

Not sure why they annotated "not inspected"?   I'm thinking they did that so they can retrace you after the inevitable "fix" lawmakers will administer next legislative session..

Old cap and ball revolvers used dead soft lead projectiles.  At the lower velocities produced by these weapons, dead soft lead was a good combo.

Not getting extra privileges is far different than losing all rights and going to jail...

Did you even read the article?  Eating is a privilege?  If you going to have a discussion have an argument and be informed about what you are talking about.

Don’t blather off the cuff, otherwise it seems as if you are trolling.

Political Discussion / Re: Youtube making dislike private

So only the creator can see it.

Guess Biden speeches getting thousands of dislikes and only 300 likes is bad for business. Most popular president in history.

Nice an entire platform can change to fit the narrative. Bet they would bring it back if trump or like politician was in office.

Surprising they don’t make likes private too. For having the most votes ever,  having only 300 likes would be a giveaway.  😂

On a side note, the creators of the vid can also hide this. Might it be the vid creator?

Thank you Inspector. Real world experience is invaluable. I am hoping we will all, especially in Hawaii,  be able to benefit from your experience very soon!
