M1 Carbine sling problem

Aloha, fellow M1 carbine enthusiasts!

A while back, I bought a Saginaw from another board member.  Lovely rifle, no complaints, but the sling keeps popping off.  The snap has no retaining power, and any pressure (I do mean "any") causes it to pop open.

No worries, slings are affordable, so I ordered a repro from these guys.  And damned if the repro doesn't do exactly the same thing!

Comparing these two slings to other slings that work as advertised, I can't see any profound difference.  All the same parts seem to be there, and look mighty similar.

Anyone else ever encounter this?
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

I've gotten a sling and a ammo pouch from them for my M-1 paratrooper and haven't had a problem. The only problem i've had was with my Underwood with a new sling and had to hammer down on the C-clip part to get it to fit through the stock and oiler.
