Hb1366 passed

1366 looks to target the 80 percent lowers.   Think it may affect mainland companies?  Like how some will only ship 10 round ar mags.

I’m considering stocking up a little on spare parts for building lowers

It seems like in trying to stop the building of non serialized tools, this encompasses even the parts we need to upkeep serialized tools.  Does this mean we cannot buy kits like the PSA rifle kits too now? If so what’s the sense of lgs’s even selling stripped lowers?

Helios,
In regards to parts:
I think the bill is trying to address the 80 percent kits that come with everything to build the lower or even both the lower and upper (frame and slide). I don’t think the intent is to go after parts for ar’s.   I think they are more concerned about unregistered pistols.

I’ll probably pick up a few lpk’s just in case since they are readily available.  For spare/replacement or to use with stripped lowers

The AG stated the above about intent. But the bill/law reads otherwise.  This is why we submitted testimony due to the clarification.  And anyone here who didn't submit testimony, then no grumble.

Same goes with tasers, the current law is not intended to be part of HRS134-51 (Deadly or dangerous weapons) per the AG.  But as written states otherwise.  Again we submitted testimony against this bill and this was 1 of the reasons.

So if it comes down to a court case, will you be able to use the testimony of the deputy AG to help you out?  At least the taser one is recorded on zoom. IDK about the P80 one because this was in person hearing.

The AG is funded by the citizens but works for and supports the State govt. They afford no interpretation of the law for the common citizen.

I can see what is now called 80%, will be renamed 75%.

It's a good thing we can ban those things just like drugs and illegal fireworks.

What should I do with the schedule 40 1 inch and 3/4 inch pipes and 1 inch end caps that I have? As is from HD they are like 85% completed to make a 12 gauge pipe gun.

Those are some big pipes. Some people are only 3/16.

Those are the standard size  pipes used to make a 12 ga pipe shotgun.  Don't know what size shell would fit in a 3/16 inch pipe, or if they even make pipes that small. If you get chamber inserts for the pipe, you will be able to shoot at least 10 different calibers with your pipe gun.

Check Ebay for 12 ga chamber inserts.

Meh next up will be zero percent kits. You can cold cast polymers in your garage pretty easily. Just need a mold and you can pop parts like they were ice cubes. Don't even need a freezer.

If you have any friends making fishing lures they can teach you in an hr.

Edit - quick Google search shows folks already selling Silicone molds for cold / hot casting and wax masters to do sand casted of lowers. If you can smelt lead to cast boolits you can smelt aluminum to cast lowers.

The technology is old and proven, it's how they made the first cannons.
