Interesting that Israel doesn't have anything like a 2A with all the wars and terrorism there.  They need a reason to have a gun and self defense isn't one.  Permits are very restrictive there.  They can own one pistol with up to 50 rounds or a long gun for its intended purpose....Olympic competition, hunting, etc.

Sure would be convenient to be carrying a gun when those terrorists crossed the border to murder and kidnap Israelis.  Never a cop around when you need one.

Iran and/or Russia had to have planned this as Hamas wasn't capable in the past.  Probably had agents smuggled into Gaza.  This attack was a tall order with:

Not tipping off Mossad
Hiding all of those rockets
Coordinated mass rocket attack
Para glide attacks
Boat attacks
Breaching obstacles and penetrating
Drone attacks hitting key sites
Multiple attacks on civilians deep in Israel
Coordinated kidnapping of civilians and military
Overtaking israeli outposts
Taking Israeli military vehicles
