Title: Suggestions for full screen recording software?
Post by: punaperson on December 04, 2018, 06:05:35 PM
I occasionally want to record some online video. Have been using ATOMI ActivePresenter but the new version mostly crashes when attempting to record and won't relaunch without a computer restart (and they've removed the older versions).

Any suggestions. Relatively simple and free would be best.

Thanks.

I have used the free version of screencast-o-matic without any problems. I think the free version is only 15 minute limit and every time you create a video of automatically shuts down and you have to open it again to make another capture.

Simplest: You could use your phone's camera to video record your computer screen.

Simple: If you have an Apple device on IOS 11, it has a built in screen recorder to record the screen.

Another option is to use a video downloader to download the video from whatever site you're viewing it from.

There's also this OBS Software but I've never used it before. https://obsproject.com

Thanks to respondents.  :shaka:

I solved the problem by downloading an earlier version of the software I had been using. In a moment of weakness I had clicked on "Download updated version"... even though my experience is "never do that" due to "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

FYI you can download the freebie called 4K Video Downloader.

Works amazingly for Windows, Mac, etc.
