you'll need to create an account, they require an email address.

This bill will ban just about all semi-auto rifles and shotguns, pistols over 50 oz (Desert Eagle), 50 cal rifles, pistols with one-or-more "evil" features, and limit everybody and everything to 10rd mags.  Very drastic.

good luck getting parts for your AR's, AK's, Saiga's if this one goes through.  This is big.  This one is Giant-normous.

Testimony due by 9:30am Thursday 22 Feb.  Phone calls also appreciated.

my long-gun permit was issued March of last year (2023), will be void after its anniversary date in a couple of months.  I took my Hunter's Ed over 10 yrs ago, not sure if that's relevant.

question I have for the hive, with all the new HPD rules, SB1230, can I still use my long-gun permit as-is for the remaining couple of months to buy another rifle-or-two?

I am totally confused.  ???

thanks.

ETA:  I do submit written testimony, every frickin' year.

saw this posted on arfcom, didn't see this reported in the local media?  but the NY Post caught it, and arfcom.  I must've been sleeping or something.  Two Maui locals, dispensed a beat-down on Maui 2014, hate crime conviction 11/18/2022, sentencing in March 2023.  if I got that right...

General Discussion / SB1567: bail reform >> tell Ige to veto
« on: May 08, 2022, 01:25:15 PM »
please demand that Gov Ige veto the ill-advised bail reform bill sitting at his desk.  We don't need to follow the failed examples of San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and turn Hawaii into a true criminals paradise.  These libtard lawmakers seem to think that the poor criminal is the victim.  Hawaii's catch-&-release justice system is already bad enough, even without a "get-out-of-jail-free" card.  Criminals gonna get a free pass on property theft, shoplifing, identity theft, car break-ins, burglary, fraudulent credit card use, etc.   must be a lot of George Soros money floating around.   JMHO

the dawning of a new era thanks to HIFICO, on-line registering your newly-acquired pistol, and getting your HPD pistol registration via email

on-line pistol registration

who's been successful?
how long did it take?
did anybody's get kicked back for corrections, clarification?

I'm all ears.

let's limit this thread to pistols only, not long guns,
and on-line registration only, not PTA's.

Political Discussion / Rap Back author: Willie Espero

just a reminder, voting time, that Willie Espero is the guy that pushed Rap Back through, and he's proud of it.

he's running against Augie T.

I'm not sure what's worse, a clown, or certified anti-2A.  I might go with a clown.

General Discussion / HB2744 will define AR UPPER receivers as firearm
« on: July 14, 2020, 11:27:39 AM »
I'm thinking there's a lot of AR-15 owners out there...

HB2744 establishes a new definition of:
"Firearm receiver" means the part of a firearm that provides housing for the firearm's internal components, including a hammer, bolt, breechblock, action, or firing mechanism.

since the AR upper receiver houses the bolt... doesn't mention anything about being attached to, or purchased with, or registered with, a duly registered lower.

if interpreted as such, then AR-15 upper receivers, stripped or assembled, would have to be purchased through FFL, serialized, and registered, which implies the whole "permit to acquire" rigamarole.

Furthermore, everybody with an unregistered AR upper is instantly criminalized.

no shit.

Legal and Activism / HB2744: redefines AR-15 upper as "firearm"?
« on: July 10, 2020, 11:35:27 PM »
in addition to establishing a commission to study gun violence, ban 80% firearms,

establishes a new definition of:
"Firearm receiver" means the part of a firearm that provides housing for the firearm's internal components, including a hammer, bolt, breechblock, action, or firing mechanism.

I know this follows upon the ATF conundrum, but allows mischievious interpretation by Hawaii's anti-2A, anti-gun lawmakers, law enforcers?  since the AR upper receiver houses the bolt.

just playing devil's advocate here.

also, new definition of firearm receiver:
"Firearm receiver" includes any object or part that is not a firearm frame or receiver in finished form but that is designed or intended to be used for that purpose and may readily be made into a firearm frame or receiver through milling or other means."

could be used to described a block of aluminum, 0% receiver, since it can be readily milled...  I don't think this language works.

what a can of worms.

So the Senate came to its senses and finally voted that the millions-of-Americans is more important than the thousands of DACA dreamers.  so they finally voted to 81-18 to end #1 anti-gunner Schumer's (NY) fillibuster which kept the govt shut down.

but, how come nobody mentions that Sen Hirono is one of the 18 that voted to keep the govt shut down?  her group of hold-outs lost, 81-18.  it's on C-Span, you can look up how senators voted, but nowhere mentioned in any Hawaii news article?  WTF!

as we already all know, yes, she's in the pocket of the NY anti-gun not-so-secret social club.  but you'd figure, with all the fed govt workers and military here in Hawaii, she'd be looking out for their interests, rather than illegal immigrant children in California?

Hawaii news also didn't cover Sen Shatz's failed anti-gun study where they went "undercover" and tried to illegally buy guns, hopefully to prove how guns are so easily purchased on the internet by criminals.  Fail!  I wonder how much that study cost us tax-payers (rhetorical question).

yup, preaching to the choir.  just had to vent.

in view of the recent dumbsh!t who went push the wrong button, is Hawaii a target because of its US military presence?

I don't think Kim Jong Un (KJU) could hit Puerto Rico since it's too far away, and American Samoa isn't even a state, after all, it's the "United States of America" (USA), not the "United States and Territories of America" (USTA).  and KJU would like to poke a stick in the eye of American Imperialists, so what better target than the hedonistic pleasure destination of Waikiki?  one of the actual 50 states of the USA, although on a normal day, kinda hard to believe most times.

I think the military presence is derived from Pearl Harbor being a wonderful harbor, and the location in the middle of the Pacific, and water to sustain a population.  But I suspect that if Hawaii wasn't part of the USA,  that  Hawaii would be a British Colony (Capt Cook), if not a French Colony (e.g. Tahiti), if not a Portuguese Colony (e.g. Vasco de Gama, etc).  so, no matter what, thanks to "location, location, location", there would be a military presence here.  just a question of whose.

who knows, if we weren't part of the USA, the Chinese Govt might claim the Pacific Ocean as being theirs, just like they did for the South China Sea, and Hawaii would be part of Communist China, answering to Peking.  and Lahaina might be the provincial capital.

just my uninformed, uneducated 2 cents here, or should I say 2 escudo's, or 2 yuans.  ah, such a luxury of hypotheticals, it boggles the mind.

Political Discussion / electric cars
« on: December 08, 2017, 04:02:28 PM »
just a thought.  it seems to me, only rich folks have electric cars.  maybe not just the rich, but well-off folks.  but Hawaii gives all kinds of benefits to electric car owners, e.g. reserved parking with free charging stations, etc.

so, does that mean there's special tax benefits and treatments for rich folks only, and us po' folks pay for their benefits?

everytime i see those charging stations in front of Home Depot, etc, it just irks me.

just sayin'
