Davenport lawsuit, the full 3rd Circuit ruled that NJ ban on semi-auto's is unconstitutional.  Applies to ENTIRE CLASS of semi-auto rifles that NJ tried to ban.  Applies to Delaware, NJ, and PA.  Unfortunately, not applicable to The Aloha State, where the Spirit of Aloha and rabid TDS reigns supreme.   :'(

if I'm reading it right, today, Jan 21st, is opening day of the Hawaii State 2026 legislative session.

and January 28th (next week wednesday) is the cutoff for introducing bills?  I guess that's when we find out what we're up against.  Barring any "gut & paste" shenanigans that go on at the 11th hour, yeah, never happens ...  :wacko:

so far, where I live has been remarkably quiet, no firecrackers, no aerials, nothing.  Just peace & quiet.  Waipahu side.

totally opposite of last year, when from after-TG (it seems), through New Years, there's the constant popping of larger firecrackers and folks shooting off bottle-rockets and aerials.

did they finally put the last nail in the coffin on fireworks?  what happened to "our culture and traditions shall not be infringed"?

This bill will ban just about all semi-auto rifles and shotguns, pistols over 50 oz (Desert Eagle), 50 cal rifles, pistols with one-or-more "evil" features, and limit everybody and everything to 10rd mags.  Very drastic.

Modernizes the prohibition on assault pistols to include pistols with one or more prohibited feature. Expands the ban on pistols with a detachable magazine with over a ten round capacity to any firearm with a detachable magazine with over a ten round capacity. Prohibits persons from bringing or causing to be brought into the State an assault rifle or assault shotgun. Prohibits the sale or transfer of an assault rifle or assault shotgun in the State, unless the assault rifle or assault shotgun is sold or transferred to an authorized individual. Creates exceptions for the acquisition and possession of prohibited firearms for members of law enforcement and the military."

my long-gun permit was issued March of last year (2023), will be void after its anniversary date in a couple of months.  I took my Hunter's Ed over 10 yrs ago, not sure if that's relevant.

question I have for the hive, with all the new HPD rules, SB1230, can I still use my long-gun permit as-is for the remaining couple of months to buy another rifle-or-two?

I am totally confused.  ???   :wacko:
