My list:
We don't flush the toilet every time someone pees, only after 3-4 people do so.
Drive a reasonably efficient compact car
Wash clothes on cold
Hang dry clothes about half the time
Don't use the heat dry setting on the dish washer
Switched to LED lights
Don't have A/C
Recycle as much as possible anything that will fit in a blue bin (we have one now!)
Print document on the back side of printouts saved from work or school
Working on refinishing a chandelier instead of throwing it away and buying a new one.
Turned down thermostat on water heater (I don't like hot showers)
Installed timer for water heater.
Use the green waste bin a lot
Don't idle car for air conditioning
Use a toaster oven to bake small things instead of regular oven. Works fine for meatloaf, small batches of desserts, frozen pizza, etc.
Fix whatever I can instead of buying new, even when buying new is cheaper.
Will eventually plant a garden with a compost area.

Thats all I can think of for now.

whynow?

Every other week I fill the green bin up with cuttings, tree branches etc.  Tried to get the city to loan me another green bin since I have conservation land in the back but they said my property is too small at 9100 sf., needs to be 10,000sf. or I need to live windward side.
Had e-glass windows and sliding glass door which conforms to the fed. 6.0 v Energy Star program and some split unit AC installed which cuts down energy use.  Don't drain coolant down the drains, don't litter, use the oil eater box when changing oil.   Disposed of real old gas at state recycling center in Pearl City Ind. park.
